Hey guys, I've been looking at this forum for some time now & thought I'd join in for a change. Here is a little bit about my shorty. It's a '78 model 40 series with a small block chev, t700, body lift, 2" spring lift ( soon to be a 4" ) extended shackles, hilux front disc conversion. 60 series rear brake conversion. The engine is tunnel rammed & running a custom twin throttle body set up, on the back of the tranny is a 70 series transfer case. It's rolling on 15"x10" rims & 33"x12.5" kelly safari's.

Hey Coolerman the front clip is fibreglass & is made by a company here is Australia.
Ozeast Fibreglass 4WD Noosa "Australia's No.1 in Fibreglass Replacement Panels & Bodies."
They make every panel in fibreglass for all 40 series cruisers & some early jeep stuff.
The whole front clip only wieghs about 30lb & that is with the lights & grill in it.
It makes it real easy to work on as I can take the whole front off by my self.
The 2 inner guards are held on by 4 or 5 bolts & at the front there is 2 of the hinges under
the radiator support instead of just 1 that you just pull pins out of. When it is closed down it's held shut with a couple of dzus fasteners on each side.

Cheers

what kind of injection system are you running? i've never seen an intake runner like that, including that canister style air cleaner?

The injection system was custom made by a mate. He was already making some for other vehicles & when said he'd have a go at making one for my car. The engine is a 283 SBC. I am running an edelbrock Victor Ram without the top section that the carbs fit to. He then made a plenum chamber to fit the ram.
It runs 2 63mm throttle bodies, wiring harness, engine management system & a modified distributor all from a Holden VN Commodore.
The canister that the air filter is in houses a K&N style air filter. The guy that made it had them flow tested to make sure they don't restrict air flow in any way.

Nice rig man, like your snorkle set up.:beer:

nah mate hav'nt got it yet. twisty is having a couple hold ups getting his new stuff so I am just waiting for all his to come together & then I've got a mate that will go around & pick it all up from him. I'm in no hurry at the moment because I'm not getting off road that much at the moment. I will change the front shocks to a longer set because he said they were too short. I've also got to get a set of f250 shock towers but getting them out here is a friggin' pain in the arse. might have to get them straight out of the states.

I found someone in melbourne they want $105 each & then freight on top of that.

If someone in the states can put me on to the right track that would be great. Someone who sells ford part #E5TZ18183A. & that will freight to OZ

Hey Wayne! Got my new springs on saturday! Halfway through installing them! Should be right to send all your gear off this monday if you want to start organising it! Been meaning to ring you for the last few days just keep forgetting sorry.

not a prob mate. I want to see how yours flexs up with the new gear in it 'cause I already know what mine will do from looking at yours, lol. will have to talk to you about those shock towers again too

towers turned up today.

Well I've decided to give the MAF shackle reversal a miss for a while as the company I was getting them through here in Australia wont have them this year & they will cost me about $700 to buy direct from the states. Plus I had a wiring melt down yesterday that is going to suck up some funds. So I'm not real pleased with the whole situation at the moment.

still have to fit my f250 towers, lengthen the bump stops & a few other litte bits & pieces.

The front shocks are a bit short but when the new towers go in it will have different shocks again anyway.
