I was joking too. Body work alone can net 10k at shop rates.
 
Downsides - none if you're going to use it as a stock rig. Once you start the bigger tire thing it'll just be an upgrade snowball and you're better off with a later model.

Actually, one downside, it will never be worth what a later model in the same condition is. Unless it's so modified that there is no trace of the original components other than the frame and body.

Upside - wheeling a bone stock rig is flat out fun. :D

You need to be resourceful, rebuild a lot, and not expect to get everything off the shelf with a click of the mouse.
