Whodat?

Don, if you mean new ones............no. Do you have any at all? If so, you may become the repro guy. If not, you may still become the repro guy. ;)

I have 3 but they are in poor shape :frown: they screw on and off just fine but they are almost white and dried out.

Do it yourself network did a show on making your own reproduction lenses. They are/were restoring a corvette roadster & needed a new tail light lense. They demonstrated making the mold, then the lens itself. Might want to checkout Eastwood to see if they have the supplies. The show notes are probably available online. I'll try to find them, since I need to make a copy of a land cruiser radio face plate.

I can have lenses made, but the lenses need to be nice to start with. You cant make a mold of an angel if you use a turd to make it.

You didn't see the cateyes we started with Mike. A stiff breeze would have turned them to dust.

This is the truck they came off of. If that isn't amazing I don't know what is

Just curious, what were the colors? Clear in front, red in back?

Call Foxfab...All you need is one out the 4 and I bet you he can work some magic :) I'm not sure what the 25 demand is so the price may be higher to cover costs but you never know. LandCruiserJunky would sport those on his FJ35 and an old housing could be modified if needed.

The 25 demand is probably going to be none since the fender turn signals on the fenders started with the FJ40s. The FJ25s used the lights in the bib for both turn signals and parking lights. That being said I would be in for a set for my 1961 FJ40.

Unfortunately I think demand would be lower than low. Basically a one - two year thing and the lenses won't do you any good without the housing.

I don't think I've ever had one to take apart , but the later round turn signal housing uses a different lens right?

you are correct...I was confused. I was thinking the really early FJ40s with the rounded door openings had them as a carryover from the 25.

Hey you can still get reproductions made though. Anything is possible, it just might cost a few grand for each lens :D

Since I was wrong:o I'll post these neato pics for you. The screw on style was in the 62 book and the other was in the 66 book. Those 62 FJ45V signals are ugly

I seen the two styles of FJ40 turn signals, but only pictures of the FJ45LV style. The 45 style would great protecting the mirrors on the FJ40/FJ43/FJ45LPB being that they mount on the top of the fender they could catch all the branchs before they hit the mirrors.

Does anyone know the change over date on the double sided turn signals? I know 1962 still had them and 1964 didn't. So what 1963 have or was this a mid year change like the stamped bezel?

While you're in the parts book John..........what's the part numbers for the lenses and the whole assembly? Stranger things have turned up still available. ;)

I may end up with the later one sided turn signal assy..but I'm not done looking yet.

If you could make just one mold and have it work for the front and back side it wouldn't be any worse than the cat eye LV lens and there isn't a right and left side. How many set did Mike have made of the cat eye lense? I'm hoping it would be cheaper than the rear Toyta emblem for the FJ25s.

Couldn't find the diy network's show notes about molding an new lens, but...

Eastwood has the supplies to make the mold. During the DIY network show, "Classic Car Restoration" the host demonstrated making a mold of a tail light lens from a Corvette roadster. During mixing of the resin/tint/hardener, the host was extra careful not to get air bubbles into the mixture. Air bubbles were also a concern when pouring in the resin into the mold. Here's a link to Eastwood's kit:
