Should I or should I not double gasket the exhaust header I am putting on today?
Also has anyone had any issues with the gasket that MAF supplies with the 6-1 header?

Don't use a double gasket! if your mating surfaces are warped enough to need a double gasket they need to be machined/replaced. take the time to do it right:D.

Use a FELPRO gasket and some copper gasket goop and a single
and you're all good. Some do use two gaskets. Either way is acceptable. There is a whole string devoted to the question, but
my wrenching mentor only uses one (D'animal).

I second the Felpro gasket. I used two, but you'll probably be just fine with one. The MAF gasket is pretty weak when you compare it side by side with the Felpro.

double felpros...;)

I appologize for my ignorance:eek:. I've always been under the impression that if one gasket dosen't work somethins' tweaked. :D
It sounds as if double gaskets is pretty common.

i would only use the one. just try and not nick it up and you should be good.

:meh:If you are straight just use one.....if you are SLIGHTLY warped 2 or 3 thousands use 2 any more than that i would have it machined.

I used 2 OEM gaskets about 6 years ago, its still going strong!
