Double Clutch (22 Viewers)

Let me preface this by saying I'm ignorant when it comes to anything that has to do with transmissions.

I am having issues getting my transmission to go into gear unless I double clutch the transmission. When driving or stopped I have to clutch to get it out of gear and then have to release and clutch again to get it to go into another gear.
I have recently replaced the master and slave and bled the system (as well as I can do solo).
My first guess about this is maybe I still have air in the system but my question is...
What would you guys think the problem is? I want to troubleshoot this and try to get it resolved easily.

We need more info on the vehicle? We need to know what year, model and what trans you have. I'm would guess you have a 3 speed.

Sorry, I would have thought a clutch system is a clutch system.
I have an '83 HJ47 with H55F

Bleeding a clutch isn't all that hard compared to 8 wheel cylinders. Check your pedal height - set too low will shorten the stroke and not disengage properly.
Their should be an adjustment at the fork, you want a little play so the throw out bearing isn't working all the time - see the book.

Maybe the synchro's in the tranny are bad from wrong oil that eats yellow metal. Oil level low.

The 3 speed has a non syncronized 1st gear and folks struggle with that. As Charlie mentioned, pedal height adjustment, pedal freeplay adjustment, then clutch rod adjustment, to get the most throw you can. Freeplay adjustment is when the slave piston starts to move. Below is instructions for a 40. It maybe the same, idk.
