So I did this and it worked but after a few days it stops working and goes back to auto lock mode. I have gone through this cycle 4 or 5 times now. Sometimes it will work for a few days to a week before resetting itself. Other times it has reset itself to auto lock mode within the day of turning off the auto lock.

What gives? Any suggestions or ideas to keep the auto lock permanently off?

Thanks

If I recall, it took me a couple of tries before I got it to work long term. I don't remember if it was because of my inability to count to five or if I didn't have the sequence exactly right. the first time(s) but I did eventually get it to work.

Yeah, I am definitely getting it to work, but it just doesn't seem to keep the auto off permanently. All I can think is that unlocking the truck via the key in the passenger lock is somehow resetting the auto lock feature.

I turned it off last saturday and so far it is still staying unlocked. I am going to unlock all the doors from the passenger side later today and see what happens.

Funny, never knew this was a thing. My 95 has never had doors lock automatically, doesn't have a door dinger or a seatbelt reminder. Maybe the PO disabled all of that? Or maybe my rig is just dumb.

Interesting. I only use a key.
