I have an early 1970s FJ40 but no doors (the guy who sold me the FJj40 - never produced the doors) Have an opportunity to purchase some doors from a 1978 model, but want to make sure they would work on the earlier model. Need Help ASAP.

Thanks!

They can fit, the door strikers and limiters are different.

Hi All:

As been mentioned, you have a FJ40, so you should post this question in the 40/45/55 Series section. :)

The hard doors changed in late 1974. So the 1975-84 40 Series had think doors, while the 1974 and earlier rigs came with thin doors.

I do believe these doors can be swapped, but the door strikers, etc, may be different.

Good luck!

Alan

P.S. the 70/75 Series was introduced by Toyota in 1985 as the evolutionary replacement of the 40/45 Series.

yes, they will fit.
change the strikers as noted above. i like the older doors better than the later doors. better steel and quicker window movement.
plus you can unbolt the upper from the bottom and have half doors.
