In the next couple of months or by the end of this year I will be trying to get more power out of the 2LT as reliably as possible. I already did a turbo swap from a CT20 to a CT9 from the Toyota Hiace. The power and torque increase is noticeable at lower rpms which is exactly what I wanted. Now in search for more power I am thinking about putting in a vaccum operated GT18V VNT turbo. I would control the VNT turbo by a dawes and a needle valve so it would all be completely mechanical without the use of electronics. The only thing I have to do now is to fit a larger exhaust and an intercooler before getting to the VNT turbo swap. I will be posting pics and updates about this so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Hi, if you want a simpler upgrade, you can use the VNT 25 from the Alfa Romeo JTD 2.4.
The actuator is controlled by the turbo pressure itself. I installed it several years ago on an LJ70 with an intercooler, and I remember excellent performance, good low-end torque, starting from just above idle up to 4500 rpm, with excellent thrust, unlike the CT20.
Obviously, after adjusting the diesel flow rate and adjusting the LDA.
I recommend an oil radiator; the 2LT gets quite hot, and if you push it too hard, the pressure tends to drop too low.

Hi, sorry for the delay, it's been a while since I've been here. The pressure was 1 bar, with the stock setting.
I didn't try changing the setting because the performance was satisfactory as it was.
It's a big improvement over the stock engine, better than the stock 3.0 KZT.
Uphill and in the mud, you just press and go, whereas with the stock engine you press and stay there.

@toy 4 , so you are saying, you drive your 2LT around at 4500rpm? Please confirm you have a 2L-T mated to a R151 transmission? I’m really curious about this setup. Please tell us more.
