Hi All:

Yep, those are installed correctly.

I switch around between running hard doors and soft doors (which use different striker plates.) So I have pondered this question before! ;)

I've got a 78 but picked up some cut down doors off a 73 for summer so I could have an inside & outside handle. I'm using the SOR striker plates & they work great but I did have to stuff around with the bolts on the door hinges for a bit before they worked right.

If I'm following you correctly, you need to adjust your door forward if the striker bottoms out. Loosen the bolts on the door hinges and move the door forward (towards the front of the vehicle), and then tighten the bolts back down. There should be enough wiggle room to get everything to line up correctly assuming everything is straight.

Good luck!
