I have a non functioning door lock on my 92 HZJ77 (front passenger side). By non-functioning I mean it won't lock or unlock electronically with my key in the driver's side. It functions fine manually and I can lock it mechanically with the key on the passenger side lock. I'm assuming before I tear into the door it's the actuator motor. Part number for the actuator is 69040-60160. Has anyone found a good source for these? It doesn't register on Partsouq. I have an inquiry on JP-Carparts. Megazip shows it but i suspect it's BS since Partsouq shows nothing. Is there another option to R&R these by replacing just the motor like in our 80s and 100s?

Thanks for that, I'll send him a message.

Another vote for Dave Stedman for the door lock actuator. I needed one for my drivers side on my HZJ77 and the original was not available. He was able to find me a different part number that was the same thing and he ordered it for me.

I was actually able to repair the original one by disassembling the motor and cleaning it up (the grease gets old and dirty). Worked great after that but knowing what I know now...a new one would be better probably.

Yeah that guy Dave, I hear he gets migraines and the only thing that will sooth them is looking up parts. Well that and side boob.

Green tea works. ;)

Thanks for the quick reply! I second the side boob remedy.

Dave looked far and wide for a replacement unit, but unfortunately they are no longer being produced.

I pulled the DC motor out of the actuator and disassembled it. I gave it 24 volts and it did spin slowly, but not enough to power the lock. I cleaned it up with contact cleaner and tried again, but no luck.

The motor looks almost identical to an 80 series actuator motor. What's the likelihood of a 12 volt motor working correctly in a 24 volt system?

Any other ideas on finding a 24 v DC motor?

I had to look for the photo from when I disassembled and cleaned my motor. I was having the same issues as you did and a simple cleaning and regrease fixed the problem. I know that doesn't help you out but I would just buy an unit that is still available having the 24V motor and swap it over.

The trouble is going to be figuring out which vehicle/year has the same motor. I'm wondering if the 24v aspect of the motor is unique to the circuit board and not the motor. Curious if a $5 80 series actuator motor would work? I'm not an electronics guru by any means.

Let me look inside the new one I got from Mr. Stedman and report back later on. I have it in a box somewhere still. If it is the same, I can tell you the p/n since he was able to get that one...it is just for the opposite side door.

Awesome thanks!

Looks like a run-of-the-mill brushed hobby motor. Problem is the 24V part. You could try emailing some hobby/robotics suppliers to see if they have any ideas.

Otherwise, if you have a 12V motor hanging out, it's worth a shot. Dumping double the voltage into it might just cause it to operate (too?) quickly

That's what I'm thinking. I may try a 12 volt motor and see how that goes. If that's a no go I could steal the cap off the 12 volt motor and swap it to the 24v motor since it looks like the worn contacts are the culprit.

The part I have from stedman is 69030-60162 so it is a 24v version being that it is specifically for the HZJ77 and PZJ77.

It appears these are all discontinued. Thanks for pulling the part numbers though.

I may have to find replacement brushes for the motor. After closer inspection it looks like the cap for the 80s motor is different. Anyone know a source for DC motor brushes?

Anyone recognize this supplier on the DC motor cap?
