Door Ajar Dash Light Stuck On

Need some help with a diagnosis and fix. The door ajar dash light on my GX is stuck on and the dome lights stay on (if set to "door).

Here is my diagnosis so far:
1) I went around to all 4 doors, opened them, saw the door puddle lights on each door come on
2) Pushed the plunger sensor on the body of the truck and the door puddle lights went off
3) Did this individually for all 4 doors (with the other doors shut), but the dash light never turned off.

So it looks like those 4 plunger sensors work, but are not used as part of the dash / dome light circuit.

Reading about another Lexus vehicle, the 90s LS400, the circuits were indeed separate and the sensors for the dash / dome light were in the lock mechanism. Can't find anything on the GX though.

Anyone have experience with this before I dig into the manuals?

Did you check the rear hatch as well? I don't recall if that will trigger the light.

I don't see a plunger / door sensor on the trunk door. Where is it?

Left hand side. My plunger went bad and was doing this. I simply unplugged it. Kinda nice on camping trips to leave the rear door open when cooking or hanging out and the dome lights arnt on.

Is it on the door or on the body of the truck?

Boom! that was it guys. Thanks for the help! The rubber nub on the trunk door isn't pressing in the plunger sensor enough. Just need to add some more material to it somehow.
