If you drive one, you know. The definition is rather loose and probably influenced by what model(s) one owns. To me, a Real LandCruiser is overbuilt, rugged, simple, dependable, owner serviceable and beautiful. Real LandCruisers are known for their axle and driveshaft size, not their infotainment screen size. Real LandCruisers come with a handcrank to start the engine should the battery die. Real Landcruisers are more manual than automatic. Real LandCruisers respond very favorably to even the slightest attention, thrive on jury-rigging and always get you home. Real LandCruisers either have, or develop, a "Soul" or personality. They hear what you say (never talk about selling one within earshot) and aim to please. They often become part of the family. They are surprisingly capable and awe-inspiring when off-road and make you look like a better driver than you really are. At one time, LandCruisers were legendary. If you think your LandCruiser is legendary, it just might be Real.
