Er any reason why this cant all be done in a short weekend with all hands on deck? i think the fact that you wont have another car available is GREAT motivation to get it completed.

I'm going to have to cancel this weekend! I don't have a new company car yet and this FJ62 has to be my DD. I will reschedule.

We should talk.;)

Let's take a head count. How many people would show up this weekend if I committed?

Just one response isn't the best. hmm.

As of right now I will not be doing it this weekend. :(

You bastard. :flipoff2:

It will happen, just gotta make time for it. I have all the parts.

Who is free June 6th? That’s the new planned date to put the new axles under my truck and weld on the new perches. I’ll start hitting the truck with PB blaster to make sure it’s a quick swap with the springs and U-bolts.

I have a friend coming down from Oregon that’s going to be in Fresno. Planning a tentative off road trip to Shaver lake area as well. I know the club was planning on going in July but I don’t mind going twice to the same area. The Sierras are beautiful and spending weekends there this summer would be quite enjoyable.

Joey,
We need to get sliders on your 60. Otherwise the rocks are going to eat your truck alive. Look at mine for proof from last season there.

I’ll be carrying tons of spare parts. Even a rear driveshaft so we don’t have a repeat of last year’s situation. I know Dave wouldn’t want to deal with the same issue at night two years in a row.

If the club is planning on running Red / Coyote Lake in July maybe we can do Swamp lake or one of the other similar trails instead so we aren’t repeating the same ones.

The spring over is on this weekend at my Dad’s shop. Joey and Mark know where it is. Anyone else interested please pm or call me. I need to gage interest so I know how much beer and snacks to bring.

SATURDAY 9am JUNE 6th!

Sweet. Good luck! You'll probably get yours done before mine, and I already have my front axle in!!! :bang::bang::bang:

My goal is to have it driveable by sunday night or work on it all week to finish up the small things. I will not be putting in a CnT axle or shackle reversal yet. Consider this Stage 1 of the SOA build to get me movin.

I'm on the same track. I'm putting shocks and modified cross member for the front drive shaft on hold until I can drive it again.

Do you know if a notched trany xmember is necessary for an FJ62? I can't get a difinitive answer. I might have to post in the 60's forum to find out.

The guy I got my front axle from did not have a notched crossmember. He said it worked great, but I don't know how close the driveshaft was because I never saw it with the front axle installed.

I'd say try it without notching and if you need to, you need to.

The front driveshaft won't go in immediately so I guess I'll have time to address that point.
