Slowly gearing up for planning a Birf job.
Question came to mind:
- is there a compelling reason to want to put in new front OME springs, stabil, and shocks at the same time as doing the Birfs? As in more accessible, faster, duplicate work etc?
thanks

The only advantage I see is having the tires off the front. I used the spring to hold the brake caliper while I was doing the front ax job. Now, doing brakes and rotors at the same time really make sense.

I personally would do them at different times. If you do it all at once and go for a drive and hear a clunk, you will be spending extra time figuring out lift or axle.

First time birf job can take a weekend if you include some coffee and #6. Longer if you run into problems. Does save much time as others have said.

what about the stabilizer? isn't there some stuff (TRE?) to pry out etc?
I was also thinking that having everything off the axle could help with dismounting shock and spring (accessibilty etc)

The brakes or re-gearing the diff would be about the only things I can think of to consider doing while doing the axle service. Everything else, while saving some time, would only lengthen the job and not really provide any substantial gains.

You definitly don't want to take off the spring in the middle of the birf job. Nothing in the birf job makes it easier for the stabilizer. Doing both would require you to put the Axle and frame on jackstands. I only see disadvantegs to doing both at the same time.

Now there is an advantage to doing the lift first. You will have extra clearance in the wheel well when you are in there working. Thats what I did, lift first and drove it for a few weeks to make sure its good and then Axle. If your front axle is in bad shape that might change the order because I wouldn't want any damage to occur.
