A friend's Cane Corso that I sometimes get to play with. Usually, I'm the chew toy.

Dropped my Schnauzer mix off at the vet this morning. She has since been diagnosed with pancreatitis. I was told she would need to stay in the hospital for one week. Kinda sucks.
She's only been gone for one day and our other dog is noticeably depressed.

Hope she's doing better!

Stella.

Found her on the side of the road about 2 years ago, ditched and skinny. Put up an ad, and the owners neighbors called and said they knew the dog, and that they never took care of her, abused her and they had to feed her and bring the dog back when she got out. They didn't care. So we decided to keep her. Any chance you left the door open she was gone! We moved to the country, 10 acres surrounded by 1000's of acres of farmland and no neighbors.
Stella rarely leaves our 10 acres and spends pretty much all day outside chasing rabbits, pheasants (has brought us 3 in a year) and the occasional barn cat when they play with her.
She's about 2.5 years old and shaping up to be the best dog we have ever had. Husky/terrier something or another.

Loves the snow. Just goes outside and sits in it. Have to shave her in the summer, she gets too hot.

And most days, just sitting back and taking it all in. No fences. No leashes. Quite the dogs life.

She had a rough start but she got lucky with you. Looks like an enviable set up for dogs and humans.
Kudos to you for rescuing her and dramatically changing her life

Yeah, it's about the perfect dogs life. We weren't looking for a dog, but my kids made my wife pull over and rescue her. We really love our place, but do miss where we used live.

Holy cow this thread took off! I turned off notifications for it so I completely forgot about this, I love how willing everyone is to share these wonderful stories of how they got they favorite furry animals! Keep them coming, I would rather look at 28pgs of dogs than work any day. Just checking back after 4yrs....

My girlfriend and I rescued a dog last year that lived inside a meth house that was raided by the DEA back in March of 2018. It was out in the middle of no where, but near the college where she attended. She called and told me about what was going down, and that she heard about a 7wk old puppy that was caught in the middle. Needless to say she had already made up her mind and came home with a new puppy later that day! Best decision she’s ever made and he's been an amazing dog and is living a great life! His name is Dallas:)

Thank you for starting my favorite mud thread. Dallas is a handsome boy and lucky to have landed with you and your girlfriend. He looks like he knows it

My neighbors have those underground fences to keep their dogs in the yard however we don't need one. We could be gone for days and our dog would would still be standing here staring up at the squirrels.

Thats Hilarious, the squirrels have him trained well!

The squirrels don't seem to realize the dog can't climb. After about :30 minutes they either jump or slowly come down the tree. At that point the odds are just as much in the dogs favor as the squirrels.
