For example: specifying the larger center screen in the 1958 trim, or the cloth seats in the Land Cruiser trim.

You don't choose LC options. LC options choose you.

Seriously - I don't think you will have any options to choose. At least not the first year or two. You get what they build. If Toyota let you customize your LC, next thing we know there will be 1958 trims running around with TTV6 engines. Not on my watch!

IF you are very lucky, you'll have a dealer with a few allocations that can get a LC is <1 year, and be far enough up the list with that dealer to actually get one at all. Once Toyota notifies them of the trim level they are building, you'll be even luckier if you have the opportunity to pick the interior color and exterior color (and even that is a gamble).

In all likelihood you'll get what you get, and it won't be the exact trim package, color, or interior color you want. I don't think it's possible to "order" a vehicle from Toyota......the only manufacturer that really does that well is Ford.

No.

You can’t even order your preferred set of options. All your dealer can do is submit a request for a particular combination and maybe they will get an allocation if the factory builds that combination.

Another thing that can happen, is your Toyota Dealer maybe able to get you close to what you want through Dealer trades. Several of my Toyota purchases have been that way. Usually they had one or two option packages I could have done without but I essentially got what I wanted. When it comes to the new 250/550 I think for the first year or so, it will be you get what you get.

I wish Toyota did because I would probably have a GX460 right now in Nori Green with Mark Levinson, captains chairs, and MTS/Crawl Control. Unfortunately they do not. Instead dealers get their allocations and have to take whatever is sent to them. When you "place an order" with your local dealer they just take down your desired trim level, options, and color and try to get one that matches or is as close as possible to what you asked for. Ford does better in this regard as metioned above and you can take it even further with the German brands like Porsche, Audi, or BMW where you can configure nearly every bell, whistle, and even have it painted a special color outside of the norm if you so desire and have the pocket change of course.

No, we are lucky they are even offering multiple trim levels!
