I've seen conflicting reports and I've seen third row seats that fit three but most I've seen fit two. What am I missing? Is there a third row we can purchase that seats three?

So it technically legally seats 8?

As long as you have 3 belts in the third row it does legally sit 8. Mine has 3 belts but haven't had the third row in there in a couple years.

Your pic has the middle belt, it's just a lap belt that's tucked into the pockets in the seat.

Ok. So it's not a shoulder belt like the second row. Ok...bingo. Thanks. This is good to know, because we are sometime sin situations where we need to legally squeeze 8 in and before I spent the $$ on the third row, I wanted to be sure. I assume a head rest can't be installed? bummer. That's a broken neck waiting to happen.

I see your point, however once you try to put 3 adults back there you may find that there is no need for a headrest because only a small child (or person) could sit there... I've had 7 adults in the truck and everyone was comfy. But once you try to squeeze the 8th even the truck seems more angry and less willing to move.

If we have a full vehicle that is usually where the carseat goes as we always have little people to haul. :D

The third row was always a dreaded spot for me in the hundy, but 8 will legally fit with a 3rd row. Speaking of third rows, I have mine sitting next to me right now.... :hhmm:

Mine usually sit behind the futon, but every time I start considering selling them I end up using them... The 100 sure does make a good friend and family hauler. Having those seats for others is also the only thing in the way of me building a nice drawer set for myself, unfortunately.

Our LC has the seat belt in the back too - that is when it is used . . . like once in the last 8 years.

Anyway, here is what Edmunds wrote about the 1999 LC seating:
Transformation from five- to eight-passenger seating is relatively easy once you get the hang of it. Regrettably, the seat is only about two inches off the floor, which means anyone over four-feet tall will have to sit "longways" across the seat or risk having their knees at the same level as their head.

Note to self "make sure you purchase a third row with a lap belt"
