I installed the OEM hood deflector many years ago and it has done its job well to protect the leading edge of the hood from rock dents and chips. The only place on this one that touches paint is under the hood and no paint loss. I have not noticed any wind noise over the ringing in my ears that is there all the time.
Honestly I would love to find a Toyota hood deflector but they have not offered once since 2010 or so. Not so much concerned by preserving the paint. Ive always used them to deflect bugs and road spray from my windshield. The one on my 60 and my 100 work great for this use case.I do not know about noise but on a Outback that I bought the factory accessory deflector damaged the paint. I personally see little reason for installing one. I rather wrap the front on 3M film for a lot better protection.
The LX is very quiet so it doesn't need a deflector.

Yeah I have them for my older LCs. Would like to find an OEM one for the 200.I found the bug bouncer that I had on my white '87 4x min truck up in the attic covered up by gun boxes. It is about 8 inches tall and smoked flat plexiglass. Grass hoppers and other insects that size were not redirected at 55-60 mph and I am sure it made a lot of noise.
I would send it to you to try but I promised it to a friend to install on his '86 2x that he is building up for the Gambler 500, 2024 trail clean up rig. There is a lot of surface area on that thing for sponsor stickers.
