One year with my 62, its no beauty but the engine and transmission are strong. It became my work truck/ daily driver by choice and I`ve put 16,500 on it already. Gets around 13.5 mpg steady and was down at various times for maintenance and misc repairs for about six weeks total. Put around $1400.00 into her for parts that were just worn out.
There are three vehicles I`ve owned that stood out above the others. The first car I owned, a 1962 Austin 850 that was one of the original mini`s. Driving it was like being part of the road. The other was a 1967 Mustang coupe, 289 and a three speed on the floor, drove it across country twice, could`nt kill it.
This cruiser is the third, a real winner!
Anyone else putting those kinds of miles on theirt cruiser?

My cruiser has made many many 9+ hour trips to new york to cop botanicals over the last couple years, its probably grown a good 25 K under my authority, many many more with my dad behind the wheel. I was just looking through old service records, my dad had a lot of s*** replaced i didnt even know about, i think ive got another 100 k left in my motor easy. I have never once been let down by this truck, and weve been through a lot. Im never selling.

I put on about 400-500 miles on my 1990 FJ62 a week.

I've owned my FJ60 for one year now and have put about 8.000 miles on it. The only money it has needed was for a clutch master and slave... and gas... Love it!

just passed 6m for mine. Bought it beautifully rust free in Sacramento; quick inspection, changed the fluids and battery, drove to Reno, then Las Wages, then to the midwest over the next 3d.
started with 148K, just turned 160. I have done nothing but change the oil every 3K.

It is a dream.

I drive my '82 BJ60 (diesel version of the FJ60) from Guatemala City, Guatemala, Central America to Vancouver, B.C., Canada each summer and back again. That's over 20,000km in two months! It's got 450,000kms (close to 300,000 miles) on it. I bought it in '89 with less than 90,000kms.

That's impressive!

It sounds like a beautiful drive - your grandkids will enjoy the stories some day, just make sure you have photos to match your stories.
