Hi,

On my 07 LX, I recently installed my second set of wheels which are the 98-02 LX470 16".

The sticker on the driver door jamb on my vehicle states the tire size and pressures for the stock 18" wheels.

Was curious what the recommended pressures are for the 16" wheels I have now (Michelin Defender LTX MS tires)

The Lexus dealer set the TPMS light to come on if pressure gets below 30psi but all tires were inflated to 35psi cold as of right now. The ride is a tad too harsh for my liking on this much PSI but maybe I just gotta wear the new tires in and do a bit more driving.

Inside of my door (1998 model, same tires and size) says 32 psi at all four corners.

I run my tires at 50psi all year.

You will need to play around with the PSI to find the ride you like, remember that lower PSI lowers MPG and increase wear.

My 2000 says 29 front 32 rear if im not mistaken.

And, overinflation can cause the center of the tire to wear faster than the rest of the tire. How's your ride at 50psi? I know a lot of LT tires might allow for higher inflation, and even call for it to maintain load carrying capability, but 50psi seems pretty agressive. What kind of tire are your running?

Yes that is 100% true, not enough load on the tire or over inflation will cause the center rib to run on the road and not the entire footprint, my tires are LT's and rated upo to 80psi.
I have Michelin LTX A/T2, load range "E".
My ride is fine, no it does not float like a sofa down the highway, and thats fine with me, it's a truck.
It ride's nice, smooth and comfy. I average 14.5mpg combined hwy/city. Tire wear is even and normal.

This thread is aimed at the factory recommended PSI rating on highway all season tires. Not sure how the discussion shifted into LT tires which will obviously run at a much different PSI.

The Michelin tire you are running is available in a passenger and LT style. I didn't see where you mentioned that you were or weren't running LTs at the beginning of this thread and many of us ARE running LTs LRE, including myself.

Fully aware of that but the entire thread is aimed at the oem recommended pressure as the title states.

Interesting. I've heard good thing about those tires and considered them when I did my lift, but my wallet was shrinking as we ran in to some "other issues". Lol, thus I went Kumho instead.

I'm running a LT275/70R18 Kumho Road Venture AT51. I see it too shows a max air pressure of 80psi. I'll have to keep an eye on the wear on these and see how they do. I'm running 35psi right now, and they're still pretty doggone stiff.

And that was answered yes?
When you go to a friends for a BBQ do you leave right after you eat or do you stay and chit chat?
We are chit chatting. Sorry if we are taking away from your original question. Not trying to be a jerk, just guys talking about tires and tire PSI.

They came on my truck when I bought it last year, so far I am pleased with them, we had a mild winter so I can't say to much about ice and snow. They do great in the dunes, great on the highway. I am a fan of Michelin tires. I wish they still offered something more aggressive.

Yeah that's cool and all but doesn't help when someone comes in and throws out 50psi in a thread like this. Just getting way off topic as there are plenty of threads that discuss loaded rigs and LT tires already. No big deal, chat away, that's what these forums are for right! :)

BTW, you can pull up tire info from the owner's manual, and Toyota has them available online in pdf all the way back to 1996. You can on Lexus too, but I believe you have to do it through whatever vehicle you have setup under your owner's account.

I got 29 on all 4 corners but the discount tire guy said since I have 10 ply, it should be at least 40 PSI.

The sticker on the door jam only refers to the OEM tires. Unless you buy OEM tires the sticker won't apply. All tires have a load rating and air pressure limits on the sidewall. While 32psi is good on some tires most have the ability for more. My pirelli have a max air psi of 44 pounds. I run 40 year round

It's all good man, I didn't mean to throw of your thread.
