Do I use the same oil?

Not really an 80 question, but I have a Murray ride on mower without an oil filter so it should be changed every 15 hours of use I've heard. Last change, I used the same Castol 20/50 oil I use for the 80 because it's real hot here. Also, do I really have to change it every 15 hours use..?

Is this o.k for mowers in general? I bought it second hand and there is no manual available online.

that should be fine. those things will run with almost no oil in them! i change it after every 30-40 personally. it doesnt get used that hard. IMO

Should be fine with the 20w-50. If you run it in colder temps, you can change it to 30w.

Why would you tell someone to run a straight 30 wt oil in colder temps?


10w30 yes, 30 wt would be thicker than a 20W50
