Do I need to purchase a camber kit?

Had the truck aligned today after lifting front and completely rebooting CV's on both sides (pfrans clamps are awesome btw). Shop got it within spec but just barely. He told me 25 degrees was the best they could do but it's on the ragged edge. He suggested a camber kit for around $140 installed which would give me 1 degree of extra flexibility. I searched the forum and must be blind because I didn't see anything specific on camber kits. I'm going to diff drop soon and once I get slee springs and get the truck lifted and dialed in, I'm upgrading my rubber. But wanted to be sure he's not trying to sell me something I don't need.

I think Slee does offer offset bushings. However if it's in spec it's in spec. I would drive it and monitor handling and tire wear before changing anything else.
 
Total Chaos Upper Control Arm

I'm in the same boat on this... I'm actually also due for an upper ball joint, and thought about doing a wholesale replacement of the factory UCA's. Came across these, which supposedly also helps with camber adjustment.

Its about 5x the price of the $140 kit, but thinking of a good long term solution myself.

I run the TC arms and like them just fine, but they are not perfect. Slee is offering what many consider to be a better option for most of the Toyota fleet, but the 100 series has not yet been addressed. It should be coming soon. Search around for some of the recent discussion but I know several folks are holding out for the new slee offering at which point you could go that route or find a smokin' deal on some used TC arms. ...I would wait a bit longer if I were you.
 
I agree. Wait!!! I run the TC's and find them frustrating. I hear that Carl at Nitro has something in the works that has a sealed joint. Not sure, but I'd wait to see. Also, Slee had a new upper arm on his truck in Ouray which looks promising.
 
Good info. Thanks for the advice on this. Will wait to see what slee comes up with....in the meantime, as someone already mentioned, I'll leave it be. It's within spec so I'm ok for now.

I've never had an issue with getting enough camber adjustment on my 100; in fact I've never heard of an issue with inadequate camber adjustment on a 100 before this post.

Caster, though, is a known problem; not being able to get enough caster on a lifted IFS 100. What front suspension height are you running? If you have ~50-60mm suspension droop you shouldn't have a camber issue.

Even with Carl's original arms we couldn't get back to factory caster #'s. A couple years ago I, with the help of Samco, Reno/Sparks NV, designed and built custom front upper control arms that allow plenty of caster adjustment. I'm currently running ~3.75 degrees of caster and it made a world of difference for steering stability and accuracy especially at speed.

The above one-off custom arms feature large oversized rod ends and H1 1-ton rated super heavy duty (fully rebuildable and greaseable) ball joints. Problem solved.

Can't wait to see what Christo and Carl come up with for a front UCA...because using a spherical bearing aka "uniball" for our front UCA application, at the steering knuckle interface, isn't the best application for this type of bearing.
 
Yep, meant caster. I'm running within spec but again, just on the edge. I did measure droop and its also within the range it's supposed to be.

I know this is from a couple years ago, but has there been any update to this?
