This is how I fixed a broken wiper pivot stud on my FJ55.

First I filed the stud to get a good flat spot so I can drill.

I used a center punch to get a good start on drilling, Then I started with a small 1/8" drill bit to see how far I could drill into the pivot stud, I ended up drilling 1/2" into the pivot, After I got deep enough, I used a 5/16" bit to get the desired size for the tap

I used a 10NF32 tap to match the bolt I found, It took a little digging to find a good size and length.

Test fit, Then added a little anti seize just in case.

I took a quick look at my 40 to see if they were similar, I dont think they are, The 40's seem to have much shorter wiper pivot, But its hard to say.
Good luck

Does anyone know if the pivot stud is attached to the wiper transmission arm, or a separate piece? The one on my driver's side just broke. Anyone got a spare one?

On the stud there is a splined base that attaches to the arm.
Are you LHD or RHD?
I have a piece from the RHS of the vehicle that has two attachment points where the LHS has only one.
I will PM you when I get to work
