Looking to fab up some 1" lift shackles for my 62, wondering if anyone here has fabbed their own. Yes I understand that 2"=1" but looking for a write-up or some tips, problems re: shims, driveability, materials. Gracias.

Also what results people have seen on articulation? Better worse? more/less droop?

Crucified, here might be another exciting consideration for you; If you have an "economy plan" thing going, you could purchase our 3/8" thick spring shackle plates only (laser cut, zinc plated), then add your own hardware. We have 4.25" and 5.25" hole center to hole center plates. We've not sold plates only, but no reason we couldn't for $6-8 bucks per plate???????

Jim's idea is a good one unless you own a chop saw, a drill press and perhaps a welder. I run SOA on OME springs with the front shackles in the rear of the spring. I own all the tools mentioned and I have made about fifty of these things over the years. Shackle angle is something that I didn't fully appreciate utill I statrted messing with it. In the end, I moved my shackle mounts in and lengthened the shackles. This gave me more drop, got rid of an inversion issue, and rode tons better.

I do have a drill press, chop and a mig. Thanks Boots for the link I had been reading your build but must have missed that page. Looks like I'll have to play around a bit to figure out whats best, I like moving the mount in to get a better shackle angle.

FWIW, I used the stock pins out of the OEM shackles (pressed them out) as the hardware for my shackle reversal. I just drilled the holes to match the shoulder dia and the threaded dia. Perfect fit and free!
