Anyone considering doing business with Dissent Offroad, be forewarned! I think I've been patient enough with Dissent but had to share what I've gone through with them.

It's been almost a year (Aug 30th 2023) and I still do not have my complete order from Dissent, zero proactive communication, I've tried following up with Cole but have just been ignored or worse lied to so I wouldn't cancel my order. What has been the issue? Almost 7 months lead time to have the roof rack delivered, original lead time on the website was 10-12 weeks, 7 months of lies starting on Dec 11, 2023 from Cole. I was told roof racks are scheduled to be powder coated and should ship next week or the following. Didn't happen. Jan 16th Cole says dual row light bar fairings were just cut, so we should ship your rack next week or so. Feb 12th, I follow up again, for more lies, didn't get a reply until Feb 22nd. They were waiting on the rear fairing, again should ship next week... Same ole crap... Then on March 8th I get a email that a delivery is on the way while I'm out of town, thanks for the communication! I wish that was the end but not even close...
I get the roof rack assembled, it's a different version that what I ordered (not a big deal, looks almost the same, except for the bolt colors are bronze vs black, again zero communication). Then upon assembly I am missing the front fairing that is part of the standard order, I paid an additional $150 for a front fairing with the light bar cut out. My understanding and the website says it 2 different parts. Cole however responds "The standard front fairing is not included with the rack when you purchase the light bar fairing. The fee you paid for covers the additional manufacturing costs of the light bar fairing compared to the standard. Then on June 17th Cole states: If you would like to purchase another standard fairing I can get that cost for you." That was June 17th...I still have not heard anything, yet it's a insult to have to pay again for a product that is standard with the rook rack. It stated this on their own website "
All roof racks come with a standard wind-deflecting fairing, a light bar fairing will be available at extra cost but will be included for free if you purchase the light bar from us."

So I don't understand how the standard fairing is not included?? and I'm still waiting to hear back and it's July 25th... I was originally super excited to order from Dissent, but after this experience I will not consider them for my front and rear bumper anymore. It's a shame they have good products just terrible communication, non existent customer service and lost a customer for life.
Good luck to everyone else, I hope your experience is better than mine!

Sorry that you had go through that. I think I waited 7 months for my extreme clearance bumper to be delivered. Wish they had a good control over their lead times but it is what it is. They’ve got great designs but one has to be patient.
Rachel, Cole and Ben have always responded to my messages but not proactively. They’ve got a lot going on….reach out to Ben and see if he could look into it.

Made a similar experience some years back with a supplier for my van rear bumper (NOT Dissent!), I kind of understand where you are and have gone through similar things with a lead time of >1 year early Covid.
I think all companies in this field, independent of which vehicles they support, are facing a similar issue:
batch production after 50-70% of the orders came in. High demand now, low demand once Covid went down. Special wishes make it harder to have stock versions on stock....

Although I also have to say I made different experiences with Dissent when I ordered front, rear and rack. Ordered my rack, added front/ rear a couple weeks later without issues. We aligned on dates on the phone and when I picked up at their shop I somehow forgot/ lost/ missed a bag of bolts. The bolts and one part of the jerry can holder (came from powder coater, I knew before pick up it wasn't ready yet) were shipped quickly on their expense.
They helped me load, provided some material to not scrap the parts, ...

Not sure what the real issue behind is in your case, but my personal experience and everything I read here makes me believe (and confirm what LCT stated) you should perhaps directly talk to Ben.

That's the same painful lesson many in the off-roading world have learned (or will learn). I no longer buy anything that is not in stock and ready to ship. If a business cannot keep inventory on the shelf, then I don't buy from that business. Sometimes it means I cannot get what I want, but it does avoid the above scenarios (of which I've had plenty myself).

Not including the standard fairing, despite clear verbiage that IT IS included, is shady as hell. Don't forget that you can always call your credit card company and file a dispute. It's a very simple, painless process. Take screenshots of the website and what it says, save copies of emails, etc. Chances are you'll easily win the dispute on the grounds that they did not provide the standard fairing that should have been part of the sale.

Some years back I had leaf packs from All Pro Offroad on my Tacoma - one of the leaves broke after a few months of city driving; All Pro started playing the same games with me that you were experiencing (not honouring their warranty, not replying to emails, empty "it'll ship next week" promises), I disputed the transaction and got all my money back from the original purchase.

The credit dispute is a great recommendation. I have done this many times with Chase - the onus to prove they are NOT wrong is with Dissent (or the seller) and in many cases they don't even bother. It make take a bit of time but you will likely win - especially if the evidence is clear.

Btw, I loved the look of the Dissent rack but not the prices or lead time (or shipping cost). Instead, I bought a Prinsu, which looks almost identical and used gold bolts. Rack arrived in 6 days and I got 10% off plus free shipping. Don't mean to rub it in - point is to the above poster on buying from folks that do a lot of volume.

Can't speak to the communication piece, but the fairing looks like just poor verbiage on their site. Definitely doesn't say you get BOTH fairings for the additional cost, but can certainly see how someone would infer that.

That wording is misleading about the fairing. Hopefully they update the verbiage for clarity.

When I bought my rack from Dissent they were up front about the lead time of 6 months back in 2021, which they met. Back then the fairing was included and one pick which fairing type. I have been really happy with my gen. 1 rack. My only wish is they would release more accessories for it.

I found Dissent to be pretty responsive, sorry to hear your experience wasn’t so good.

A lot of stuff for our trucks is made to order, so I am used to a lead time. I do tend to jump and order first run products just not to miss out, lol.

is this still an issue? any feedback about Dissent? I'm thinking about ordering them but I hear they don't return any emails etc???

I got my "set" (front, rear, roof) about a year ago. Communication partially took 2-3 days, but it was ok. They also sent another bag of mounting hardware as I forgot it there/ or lost it or whatever.

And beside that: quality is absolutely amazing!
