Update,
The DIY kits are still not completed. I was thinking that once I got it all dialed in They would cut me all the parts in a day or two, not the case. I have been getting the parts for about 4 bumpers a week. They have two lasers but one has been broken for the last few weeks, the second laser is fixed now so they assured me they will get a fair amount cut this week. I know this it taking much longer that I originally had figured but I will keep you all posted. Thanks again for your patience!
If I remember right there is not much room to move the winch back before it would hit the grill support. This is a very common thing as all winches are different. With a high clearance low profile bumper it is impossible to make all winches fit with no mods. Most makes have the same dimentions on the body but it's the solenoid box that is different. On some of my past bumpers I have mounted just the plug remotely and that seamed to work well. When the plug is on top of the box like the warn is it may work well to cut a hole in top of the bumper just above the plug. I'm not sure if that would have worked in your case or not but could be an option for some.Just got it installed. I made some changes to the bumper. I added a hole to the frame brackets to allow water to drain from the frame. See pic.
I also added some small led turn lights but they blink fast so I need to add a resistor or add a incandescent turn signal bulb.
The warn xps winch required the solenoid box to be relocated. The box fits barely. It would be easier to package if the winch could move back more. Ben, is there a reason the lower section of the middle section of the bumper does not extend to the bracket mounting slot? If I could move the winch back 1 inch, the packaging would be easy. I added an angle bracket to attach the solenoid to the bottom of the bumper.
Laser cut and bent. I do use a jig but it can be done without one. Most pieces have alignment tabs and corresponding slots which make it pretty fool proof.I didn't go through all the pages and maybe this is self explanatory but the DIY kit is just the laser cut sheet right? No assembly has been done at all? Did you build a jig or something to help get angles and whatnot lined up or is it just easy for everything to fall into its correct place?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.
There Andy! Few more little adjustments and will be good to go!Who doesn't like a happy ending after a trail ride, sorry, honest first impression.
@getoutside; Get that thing stuck together and on the truck already, looks like fun!
