I have been wanting to purchase another 100 ever since I sold my built 2000 several months back.
I needed one so I could finsh up some products such as roof racks, sliders ect.
I decided to look on Craigslist last night and found a fairly clean white 2000 with 224k and engine problems for $2500,
So I loaded up the fam to go take a look.
It was clean, rust free and seamed to be in great condition for the price so I pulled the trigger and purchased it.

This build will be fairly mild as it will be my wife's dd for a couple years. It will be used as a showcase for my 100 series products as well as a test rig for new products.
It will be getting dissent front and rear bumpers, dissent sliders, dissent roof rack, dissent dual battery tray and dissent twin arb compressor mount. Hopfully I will be able to offer all that stuff for sale in the future.
Already ordered the snorkel and 275-70/17 ko2s, I bought a set of rock warrior wheels a while back for $250 so those will be going on with the new tires.
I'm waiting on some more pics and a video of low mileage motor out of a salvaged 00 with 129k, if that all pans out I will most likley replace the motor.
For suspension I'm most likley going to keep it simple with a 1.5" ome kit.
I will most likley build this one up and use it for a year or 2 and then sell it to purchase a newer one. Should be a nice solid rig once I'm done.
Hoping to have it running, new wheels and tires and front and rear bumpers on in the next few weeks. Will keep the thread updated.

It will be cool to watch the build.

I'm glad you got a white one this time, now I can see what mine could look like in the future! Any design details for the sliders you are going to make? I'm in the market for some now, leaning towards Slee but I'm excited to see what you come up with.

Me too, I love the white.
The sliders will be different from anything els on the market.
Planning on a full formed plate style slider. I have some pretty cool ideas for the sliders but don't want to go into to much detail yet. Stay tuned.

Aluminum skids are in the plans,
The sliders will be more like a slider/running board.
Should compliment the bumpers nicely while being as strong if not stronger and lighter than the traditional style slider.

That's my goal at least.
In the coming months as funds allow, I'm hoping to get the shop better equipped for aluminum fabrication.

Went ahead and put a deposit on the motor with 129k, the salvage yard is supposed to get me a video of it running as well as a pic of the odometer and if I give them the go ahead they said they could possibly pull it and ship it Monday or Tuesday.
They typically sell just the long block and sell all accessories separate such as manifolds, throttle body injectors ect, ect.
They said they make more off of the accessories that the engine so
With some negotiating we settled on a price with all accessories, manifolds, wire harness ect,
Should be pretty much plug and play. I did end up paying a little more than I wanted but still think I got a good price @ $1600 to my door.
It's looking like the end result will
Be a completely built rust free 100 for under 10k.
And if your waiting on bumpers don't worry, my brother is a mechanic and owes me money so he will be doing most of the mechanical work so I can continue to put bumpers together :)

What's wrong with the engine on yours?
Looks like the heater ts may have failed causing a blown head gasket or cracked head.
Looks like the po just replaced them so that is my guess,
Really the only thing that seams can kill these things is a failure in the cooling system.

Subbed for sliders! And skid plates. And somebody REALLY needs to make a better food rack than what's out there, the K9 is the best I've seen yet and still has some design flaws and improvements that could be done.
I'm offering my 100 as a test mule!!

Hopfully the rack will fill the gap!
Unfortunately for you I have my own 100 for test mule ;)

Also subbed for skids! Have you shipped up to Canada before? Curious on the cost, maybe cheaper for me to drive to Montana.
I have not,
There have been a few guys from Canada order bumpers but ther have me ship close to the border and then they pick up.

@benc Is this talk about you making sliders serious? I just pulled my running boards off today and will be in market sometime with in the next few months.

@benc Do you have a timeline on the sliders? I would like to see a frame mount that doesn't protrude below the frame like the Cruising Offroad version. A u-shape with the bolt only at the top.
