1971 FJ40, planning my front disc brake conversion. Couldn't find any while searching, so if there is one feel free to link another thread and call me an idiot, but has anyone posted a guide/breakdown of how to swap to disc brakes using parts from a 60-series? I'll be buying a full front axle out of a 1981 FJ60 this week, are there are other parts I should grab from the guy while I'm at it? What about brake lines, or other additional parts needed? Sorry if any of these questions are dumb, but I haven't done something like this before and don't want to screw it up. Thanks.

I hope i don't sound obnoxious. Many threads on this. Use Google to search Mud. Mud search engine is not great. If you get full axle with all the bits in between hub to hub you have what you need.

If you go to FAQ's at the top of the 40 section and scroll down to frt ends you'll find some info. You find info in tech links at the top of FAQs too. The project is really no different than any knuckle rebuild, except using fj60 knuckle and grinding the ball opening, so the slightly larger birf fits. You'll need to deal with the differences with tre's. If you get a rebuild kit from Cruiser outfitters it comes with instructions. Id recommend getting the double lipped marlin inner axle seals and centering the knuckles. Here's a link to start.
