so i removed the unused air compressor from my 2f. it was a pretty sweet setup with oil feed from a T under the oil filter where the pressure sensor plugs in, and the return went into a Y at the dipstick.

now that it's gone i notice blue smoke more than before, an my question is:

does the now open end at the Y at the dipstick need to be plugged because of some type of pressurization that if unplugged will result in burning oil?

Don't know about burning oil but, without plugging the extra tube, you are basically rendering your pcv valve useless.

I didn't say non-functional... just useless. The extra hole into the oil pan allows access to atmosphere at that location. Rather than forcing the crankcase gases to be sucked up and thru the PCV valve and then into the manifold to be burned, you've allowed a "fresh" air source for all that manifold vacuum. Maybe it's possible that all the oil around the cam/lifter/pushrods is getting sucked directly into the nearby PCV and showing up as blue smoke. I don't know. Plug the hole and find out.
