Ok, so I will pull the trigger on this one. In the next week or so I'll be ordering both the 16inch Tesla Style head unit as well as this new gauge cluster replacement. Looks pretty cool and ECOffroad seems to stand by their products. Time will tell, but it looks pretty neat. $1356USD is pretty steep, but I'm intrigued by the potential for fully transforming the driver experience in the 200 to something that looks/feels like modern design. Between the two changes for a total of $2800USD, it seems like a decent value for making the truck feel new/modern.

Subscribed.

Interested to see how it works.

Personally, going with the Tesla style head unit... replacement dash is a bigger/riskier challenge than I’m comfortable doing.

Well, it appears to be a very simple plug-n-play install, so I'll probably carry the OEM on in the truck as a spare for any long trips until I am confident in its reliability. This will also allow me to know exactly when it will fail... Certainly it will fail on my first long trip that I choose not to bring the OEM as back-up.

Murphy lives... even with Toyota’s! :)

This should look really nice Matt. Will be interesting to see how it all works with a US spec LC.

That looks very nice. Excited to see it installed and get your review. This may sound like a dumb question/statement but you can switch it from metric to imperial correct?

I'm confidant that it can be switched, though I haven't looked for confirmation.

Brave man.....

props for trying it out but don’t think the quality of this would be close to an “OEM” unit.

Subscribed- Would be interested for my LX; I wonder if they offer a fitment option.

LOL. I don't see it as brave... The OEM cluster is just a means for communicating information. It doesn't control anything and no system depends on it. I see this as a simple and completely reversible change of display technology and to a far lesser degree, interface... Certainly less consequential than installing the Tesla style head unit that replaces all of the radio and HVAC controls.

Have you all seen this competitor product? Lanmodo Cluster. Also, I found the one EC Offroad sells for what appears to be less. And it seems to be the actual manufacturer of this cluster. Carobotor Cluster.

I think all of these are great, I’ve just been looking around a lot at these and thought the Lanmodo was definitely an interesting take on it (not sure if it would fit my truck as I’m still figuring out how the USA versions match up to the AUS versions). And the Carobotor one I thought was interesting because it seems like the exact product but for less.

This project is being delayed by some necessary costs related to the new house. Will probably tackle it around Christmas. Stay tuned...

The Lanmodo one seems to offer way more options. I might start looking into it. Thanks.

Has anybody considered or done this lately? Anyone worried about future reliability issues with these types of products?

I must say that the combo of digital dash gauge cluster and tesla style head unit would make for an incredible upgrade.

Even better would be if the 2 were integrated with each other. I’m thinking of features like nav instructions from the head unit showing up on the cluster like on the stock system on newer LC’s.

The unit offered by the Australian company appears to be manufactured by Carobotor, a company out of Canada. I have reach out to them about providing me with an evaluation unit to install and review. We'll see if they oblige. If they do, I'll offer my honest opinion on all aspects and thoroughly document the install and functionality.
