Hi Folks is there a place where i can get the different models in the 60 series trucks.

Don't understand the difference hence the question.

Thanks

There are basically two variables; the engine series, and the body style (early/late).

The F in FJ60 refers to having the 2F (straight-6, carbureted) engine. The 60 indicates that it's the older (round-headlight) body style. They all came with a manual 4-speed transmission.

An FJ62 has the 3FE (the 2F's *slightly* smaller fuel-injected successor), and the newer (square-headlight) body style. 62s came from Toyota with a 4-speed automatic.

Those were the only two that were ever sold in the US. Abroad, there was also...

BJ60 (3B diesel 4-cylinder, 4 or 5-speed manual, round headlights)

HJ60 (2H diesel 6-cylinder, various transmission options, round headlights)

HJ61 (12H-T diesel 6-cylinder, 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic, square headlights [except for some made somewhere at the start of production that had round ones])

Other variables are right-hand-drive vs. left-hand-drive, and some 60s outside the US had a high-roof body style. But that's the general gist of it. People don't all know the actual model designations, so you'll see ads for 'diesel FJ60 imported from canada' now and again which are actually BJ60s, HJ60s, and sometimes HJ61s with square headlights.

Anyway, the worst thing you can do is refer to land cruisers all as 'FJs'.

Thanks very much for the information

I was trying to look some up here in the UK

Was not sure about the models hence asked.

Thanks

Some sites refer to them as the J6 series, as they omit engine and body configuraton (High roof for exemple).

Here's a diagram to help you out with all land cruiser models. I'm sure they are some missing...

hj60s also came in square headlight set up

My friend's HJ60 diesel from New Zealand has round ones. I wonder if the countries had different release dates for the updated square lights.

Some fj62's had round lights some square; there is a miriad of differences from different countries and for different years of manufacture. Then start and get into the sahara(high roof models) then the G series the Gx the glx then the VX models. Then the 24 volt models etc. I don't think toyota can tell you what the differences were anymore.
