Why would there be registration issues? California might have an issue with the diesel because California is a "little different."

Because it's from New Zealand... there are only a few places that can do the import process to make it legal to bring cars in.

I have owned Cruisers from both New Zealand and Australia and have never had an issue with registration.

There is no mystery--if it's twenty five or over, it can come in. Gas or diesel, doesn't matter, it's EPA-exempt. Now that doesn't mean Cali will accept it, only that the Feds will allow it into the country. Most all the other States are good with that.
