ugh i just spent the 12 hours trying to remove some black bamboo in our back yard, all day with a small ( mini mini ) back hoe and that sucker still would not give ( 3 feet all around dug ) I need to dig under it next weekend and get it out, not looking forward to it lol :)

i did not ru the backhoe, but rather dug all the trailing roots out 8 about 15 feet around the plant ) , what a pain in the ass, sooo tired and sore, beer time :)

Destin - 40s are often called Stump Jumpers in Aussie. Just get something to tie it to the forty and pull it out.

Cheers Dobster

Unfortunately only 4 feet of clearance on either side of the house though :(
Made more progress today, tore out s huge slab of concrete and broke up a large concrete kio pond with ass loads of rebar in it :bang:
Nut a pretty big say swinging a sledge hammer and hustling the rocks to the dumpster out front .

But slowly getting there :D

The soil is clay too,s o a bitch to dig in, it rained a bit today, i am the muddiest man alive haha.

:D

Pictures????:lol::lol::cool:

haha i have some on the camera, it is a god damn war zone out there right now.
Clay every where!

The dog just bombed out there while i was having a pint in the "sun" lol
He tracked mud throughout the house, and i am in trouble

time for another pint :)

I have some photos from the beach too, I should post em :D

Hey Destin-
I saw that you were working on your wing windows, could you tell me what you used for weatherstripping and how it turned out? Still looking for an alternative and I now finally have time to work on my soft top doors.

Thanks,
Dutchman

heater connected, stock seatbelts in :D

Cutting new plexi glass, thats all going in tomorrow :D
Could not find the wing window rubbers, but i am just gonna use some vanilla window rubbers and cut them to fit flush.

ONLY missing bit, missing one of the bottom metal clips for the passenger side plexiglass window that slides in the runner felt ( the bit that you pop in the slots to control how high or low the window is. )
(FST soft Doors )

Guess i might neeed to bend a ghetto one outta metal if they are no longer available... any ideas?

Did you bend some metal clips as well? I'm in the process of putting those together too.

hey man

I ended up just making a ghetto rubber chalk to use for the driver side until i bend a piece of metal for the window.

I just cut the plexy glass smaller for the wing windows and just cut up some window rubbers etc from the auto-shop. I could not find the wing window seals anywhere :(

hey all, sorry not much happening on the cruiser front, been busy trying to get the backyard ready for summer bbqing fun.

Nice Pics Destin...your 40 looks great!

How she shaking down...any issues? She all buttoned up now?

thasnk guys :)

naw no real issues, a few rattles here and there with cables etc, but every thing is solid now :)
She crawls and creeps around in low like a champ.

I might replace the parking brake pads and that little o-ring back there.
rebuilding the clutch master is in the mix too as it leaks a hair :)

But all good ;)

Might think about rebuilding the clutch slave at the same time. Shortly after I bought my 68 the master starting to leak. I rebuild the master only to have the slave go completely out on my next four wheeling trip in to the back country. It still had the column shifter at the time. Trying to shift it without a clutch was interesting. Not to bad until I got it back on pavement and had to drive in traffic.

Love the pictures my the way. I still miss the three months of summer in Western Oregon. The other nine months not so much.

Good thinking :)

Slave and master will be rebuilt :)
Do they even make rebuild kits for these anymore?

If you guys have rebuild kit numbers for the master and slave let me know, also the PN for the seal before the parking/ hand brake on the transfer case :)

hehe oregon and our 3 months of sunshine haha.
trying to enjoy it while it lasts :)
