Okay got the Kit thanks Jim! Now should I use some type of lock tight or will it be too hot for a thread locker? Also how tight should I install them? Thanks.

All current orders are shipped. 1 or 2 idlers still on hand.

Robb, yes, still building carbs as well. As usual, very busy in the shop so there is a several week turnaround on getting one done.

Carb Rebuild from Jim C.

Jim -

Thanks for the quick reply, and I'm glad to hear that a rebuild is in my future! I have been running with a Weber 38 for maybe 12 years, ready to go back to the Aisun so I will box up that original carb and send it in... No problem on multi-week turnaround I can stay with the Weber for a bit longer.

I've been running the stock 2F engine de-smogged since the late '90s, with 6-1 header, blocked EGR, no air pump. I had a DUI distributor for over ten years but last year went back to the stock Toyota dizzy after finding excessive play in the DUI unit.

While I'm at it, in addition to the carb rebuild, I'd like to get your advice on best practices for desmog with the Aisun & stock distributor...specifically use of VSV, TSV usage, and probably take another look at vacuum line routing.

Finally, the Weber installation involved some minor mods to the throttle linkage plate, wondering if you could supply a non-boogered plate?

What is the mailing address to send? (PM me if that works better!)

Thanks, I'm excited to get this going!

Carb rebuild

Hi Jim - I'd like to get in the queue for a carb rebuild as well; would you mind PMing me with instructions, cost, etc? I have an April 1986 FJ60.

Thanks!

Just sent payment for full desmog kit.

Need shipping info FJ40JIM

Howdy Jim

Once again, waiting for a response, please let me know where to send carb for refurb.
Thanks,

Jim C, what dizzy do you recommend to replace my 77 2F?

I am going to wait till Jan and send you my carb and a dizzy to re curve for desmog

Don't change a 77 if it still has a good vac advancer. They are the last & best points distributors for USA 2F. It uses an electronic spark box (ignitor) which is triggered by the points, so there is no ignition current flowing through the points which means they last about forever. And if the spark box craps out (never seen it), then an easy rewire at the coil will get the ignition back up as an old fashioned points & condensor type.

I dont have the box on the coil anymore. OP thing. I am wanting to make this motor run good and alot better.
