Hey jim -- have had my rebuilt carb in for a couple of months now -- i noticed today that mine is dripping out the front of it at the bottom where a long rod comes out and attaches -- do i need to send this back to get it fixed -- this is also noticed not running - moving the throttle back and forth -- was looking for a reason my throttle keeps sticking when stopped - if i just tap the pedal very lightly it goes down to normal range - just want to make sure nothing is wrong -- Heath

Hey Jim,

Any idlers in stock?

Sent you an email a few weeks ago about it.

Thanks in advance!

Heath, the primary throttle shaft drips fuel off the end after the engine is shutdown.
When the engine is running, the shaft is a minor air leak into the carb.
When the engine is not running, the fuel that has been sprayed at the shaft by the main nozzle and AP tends to run out the end of the shaft because of capillary action.

If the idle is not fully returning, try disconnecting the throttle linkage at the carb, then run engine, see if it returns fully to idle.
If it does, then the linkage from pedal to carb is draggy & preventing it from idling.
If it does not fully idle w/ linkage disconnected, then something in the carb is holding up the idle slightly. Maybe choke linkage, choke idle screw, AC idle up screw or vacuum misrouted....

Yes, the new batch is ready to ship. :bounce: PP your moneys and parts will be in Priority Mail pronto.

Just want to confirm the price with you.

What's the total for an idler and cap and plug set? $119 or $124? If they are shipped together that is the $5 difference.

TIA

Money sent for idler and cap and plug set.

Thank you sir!

again - thanks jim -- i will check to see and update in a few days -- oh do you have a couple of set screws for the galley plug fix and a couple of silicone nipples one that would fit the dizzy -- no one has them around here the set screw in stainless steel -- home depot closed - no help in the store ever i guess was the reason -- i can paypal

All idlers & stuff that have been paid for in the last week are in the mail now. Thanks everybody.

Hward, the oil plug shouldn't be stainless. Black iron is stronger and threads in easier. SS is more appropriate for an exhaust fitting that needs to be removable later.

No caps are required on the dissy.

reading through the thread I notice most people aren't ordering the EGR block off plate. Why is that?
Is it not needed for the desmog? I'm about to order all three items from Jim

Speaking for myself I don't have a stock exhaust manifold anymore. Hence I don't need one. Others may just fab something themselves.

Just got my idler on a week or so ago. It is top notch, and if I needed the block-off plate I'd definitely order one!

The EGR is expensive because it is milled in 3D from a chunk of billet.
There are cheaper ways of covering the hole, but the point was to get the 3D part right, to prevent the EGR gasket from ever blowing out.

And if you've ever had to change that stinking gasket 'cuz you used a cheap plate and gasket you'll kick your dog for not using Jim's block-off and OE gasket the first time.... Axe me how I know.

Thanks for the orders everybody!
Just got payment for a few idlers and...
Ran out of 'em.

Don't panic, all the pieces are here. Will get welding today, so as to ship tomorrow.

Quoting myself. Is that weird?
