Hi Jim,

I would like to correctly desmog my 76fj. It was previously desmoged by PO. Has saginaw PS, no smog equipment what so ever. Just picked up a charcoal canister so I can vent gas tank properly. Currently has a Weber carb but would like to go back to Stock carb. Not even sure what the distributer set up is but can send pics.

Can you assist with parts?

Thanks

You've got money Jim. Thanks for the opportunity!

Calsum, a fresh 1975-76 2F carb can be built to fit. The dissy may be a vac advance unit already, instead of the earlier vac retard type. If it is a retard or has a bad vac advancer, I have several good used Denso vac advance dissys available. there is a long list of other parts that may be needed: air cleaner, carb studs & nuts, insulator plate, fuel feed & return lines, throttle linkage & pedal.... I may have all that stuff.

Thanks Jim

Jim - many thanks to you!

Your parts are valuable, but the information you contribute to this board is priceless. Got the pulley, caps and plugs last week and did my desmog this weekend. After a month of researching everyone's efforts and your responses it went incredibly smooth. Need to find another distributor and carb to buy and send you so I can do a quick swap down the road.

Thanks again!

Hey TacDoc, welcome to the forum.

Your order will be shipped in a few days. Just got back from the steelyard w/ raw materials to build more idlers.

Search for a huge thread titled "my desmog thread". Not a tutorial, but if you focus on posts by that FJ40Jim guy in that thread, you'll figure it out.

Hey Jim,

Already built more idlers?

I studied a lot of desmog threads here and I'm ready to continue/fix my FJ60 desmog project...

In fact, I got my FJ60 with a ghetto desmog job already done

The gas pump was stripped and used as a pulley and lots of hoses just cut and hanging... The gas pump bearings are almost gone by now.

Amazingly, the Cruiser's carb runs great!

Please let me know.
