I'm still considering Thursday, caravaning with Jerry. My old pop up died years ago at Pismo Beach! If there's not a lot of wind, I'll deploy the sun shade on the Globetrotter.

Cool. You should make that happen Brent.

We exchanged messages yesterday and I'm planning to caravan with Jerry on Thursday. I'll be heading out from UCLA area early afternoon to meet him and his son after school: somewhere in the OC, specific location still TBD.

Id probably have to leave about 6am to get down towards you by 8am. What do you think of that, +/- a few min?

That should work. I'll let know if it changes.

You guys will be headed right past me on I-5 down to the 78. I'll PM you and Jerry my cellphone. Call me when you leave Jerry's location and I'll meet you on the freeway. When you hit south of the El Toro Y give me a shout on ham 146.460. I'll just hang out at the Costco parking lot at Crown Valley and wait for you.

What is everyone doing for the potluck Friday and Saturday nights? I asked the question over on AAV but didn't get a real definitive answer. I'll probably bring some bacon and bread for Friday, but not sure for Saturday. Should we bring a dish or is the food provided by the sponsors and we just bring the extras like plates, utensils, etc? Or do we make our own meal plans and only sample the dutch over goodies? I went to DRV back in 2012 but did not participate in the meals. The only thing similar I have for refererence is the old BorregoFest events.

Saw your post on AAV. Saturday Dutch oven contest food will not feed everyone! Plan on a main dish, side or dessert to contribute. There are typically a couple dozen dutch oven contestants, but easily 200+ mouths to feed (based on 125 vehicles signed up). Most folks have plates, etc. Friday if you want to bring bacon/bread to contribute to the Mojoe Grill baconfest, I'm sure Cam would welcome it. It may or may not be a meal enough for everyone, but there's typically a lot of food available when Cam gets his griddles going!

Hmmm...should I give a reprise performance to my award winning dutch oven dish from last year's Mountainfest? Of course I'd have to do it on that fabulous TemboTusk dutch oven table this time!!! :bounce:

We're bringing bacon and bread for Friday also. Saturday is up in the air currently. I'd like to get to the Asian market to gather some more ingredients for a MoJoe dish but we'll see.

I just filled up with diesel and am putting water in the trailer shortly after picking up one of the kids from school. Packing the bags and fridge after work tomorrow. Hopefully my wife can get to the market between work and school...

***STICKERS***

I'm hoping to bring what I have left of my SoCal80's stickers, so bring your piggy banks if anyone wants some. Mostly 10", but I may have a very few small ones too...

I'll be joining him on the trip to DRV. I'll make sure he is there in plenty of time, or I'll push or pull him there long before dark.

Nice Pic. That's the place most of us turned around a couple of years ago. Two 80's went thru then came back. Looks much rougher now based on the pic. No wheelies back then. Nice work Mark!

Agree on the welcome back any time. Will absolutely give you as much notice for Mountain Rendezvous as possible!!! The AAV site does have the dates published I believe.

Had a great time. You're welcome back anytime :D

x2. Good to meet you guys in person. My son really enjoyed playing with Sam.
