That's wayyyy better than sitting in I-25/470 traffic...

You guys want to shoot for Tipsy's at 0800? That way if ya forget beer, they have a pretty good selection...

The wife says I always make excuses to "drive by" there, plus it's just down the road.

Sounds Perfect,

I was at Tipsy's a few months ago last time I was out in Colorado. Is that bad I currently live in Arkansas and I know exactly where that is?? LOL

Nope, Tipsy's rocks. I take people there from out of town and they are amazed.

I like the idea of meeting on 285 a little further west. Just in case we get any from the hills to meet us. Tipsys doesn't open til 10am, right? King Soopers in Aspen Park maybe? Or, we could all just stop there....

Doesn't matter to me, Tipsy's opens at 8am, but Aspen Park works.

I'll nail this down in a few days. Probably closer to 9, I did this exact drive last week. We'll have plenty of time.

We could even stop and fish the Gunny for an hour. Just to break up the drive. Or, I know a spot on the Middle Fork.

I'm up for that.

Deciding If we should go to Mesa verde or drive toward Denver to run the trail with you guys. Do you have coordinates for the meeting location and a time?

Funny, I actually did get held up in traffic!

Is that last dollar road traffic?
I got behind some sheep when driving an FJ62 there years ago, those white haired ladies were slow!

I will be leaving the metro area in the 4-6 pm range on Thursday and taking the 285 route.

That was Owl Creek Pass. I was in the middle of the herd at that point. The Rancher who was on horseback at the back of the herd said "just keep driving, they'll probably move"

Where do you guys want to meet up?

Sitting out in Englewood drinking a Denver pale ale as I type this... Life is good!!

I'm up for whatever you guys think. Just let me know..

I am on my way home tonight from WA. Working tomorrow. So it will be a mad scramble for me to get ready in time. Did we finalize a departure place and time?

Looks like 930 tomorrow morning @ Tipsy's.

Sorry for all the late info.....

Meet at Tipsys Liquor World at 0915 for a 0930 departure time.

We will jump on 285 over Kenosha Pass,
Rt 50. Over Monarch Pass.
We'll stop in Gunnison for a quick break at City Market just in case we forgot anything. There's a great coffee shop there that has out of this world iced coffee. We'll also fill up on fuel.
Back on 50 to Cimmaron, CO where we'll start Owl Creek Pass. Lunch will be up near Silver Jack Reservoir, unless anyone wants to fish for a half hour along the Gunny, then we can just eat lunch there.

Over Owl Creek Pass (we might stop for a few pictures) to Hwy 550 just outside of Ridgway, CO and into Ouray and our camp.
