No affiliation at all. I came across this in my weekly fzj80 search. As much as I would LOVE to buy this truck and I actually think its worth the price (just under $18K) I am posting it up here so someone else buys it! I have talked to the guy and there are several people wanting to buy it so I doubt it will last long even at its high price. We all know it would go for more on e-bay, which is why I almost bought it. It is a one of a kind for sure and needs to go to a good home so I thought I would post the link here.

The seller got it from an auction in the SW. I have looked up the lexus records via lexus.com and it was sold and serviced in New Mexico....which makes it worth more? I can pass those records onto anyone who wants them. I could also deliver it by driving if someone really wanted.
Have fun drooling! 1997 Lexus LX 450 - 5280 Motorcars

Do you guys think its worth $18,000?????????

Worth $18,000

Hell yes. Where else can you get a vehicle of this caliber for $18,000 that is barely used?

Would I pay that? Probably not seeing that a 100,000 mile 80 series is still easy to find and usually around $12,000 or so.....

That said, I would take $14,000 up there and flop it on the table.

Worst case you have to take that $ back to the bank.

$14,000 is a LOT of cash to flop down.

I'm wondering where all the locked 80 series with 100,000 mi are for $5k like that guy was saying...cause I'm not seeing them.

my buddy just grabbed one with higher miles but very clean for $2000- just to keep it all in perspective.

I wouldnt pay more than $10k no matter what the miles.

also remember.........ODO rollbacks on 10 year old+ cars occur on many vehicles according to the NHTSB.
Im gonna go out on a limb and say that theres quite a few 146k miles rollbacks that get detailed to the nines and pass for 46k vehicles.

I know all about rollbacks. I purchased mine with 88K on it.....THEN i get the records from lexus that stated the ODO was replaced at 75K!! Carfax showed nothing and gave the buy-back guarantee! Don't trust carfax 100% Luckily I was dealing with great people and got some money back. It was still one owner with all the records so I decided to keep her.
But this one is legit....I have the lexus records right here. I am with you though, I've driven a few that were obvious rollbacks...or i guess just treated like s***.

I'd be very interested in this if the price was around $14,000 and I knew for sure there was no odometer roll back. It is time for a newer car for her, and we both agree we'd rather have her in a cruiser for the safety factor opposed to something smaller like a Prius. We want to just get her a nice Lexus or Cruiser with lower miles in great shape that she can drive the crap out of.

How does one verify that the odometer is in fact correct and has not been tampered with?

If you have service records, you look for consistency

Ask the dealer for a carfax. If there is any dealer service records, call the dealer. They may not give you the exact info, but you can say--I am looking at a car with 46,000 miles on the odometer. Is that consistent with your service record?

I looked at a 97 a few months back. It had 115 on the dial. Carfax lead me to a dealer who serviced it in 2005. It had 125 on it then. Carfax didn't show the odometer, but the dealer told me.

You should be able to buy the car for 12-13, based on the market. Any more than that, you are buying on emotion
