Delta VS rear bumper sneak peek

Looks very impressive, glad to see it's finally available. Pricing is about where I though it would be. Considering how much engineering has gone into it, the price seems right (no complaints, it's not cheap, but I'll be getting what I'll be paying for which is a high quality bumper that looks great). Now I just need to work it into the budget.

A few questions:
1. What is the taller part in the bottom of photo below?
2. What is it used for?
3. What is that option called on the pricing matrix?

4. What finish options are available?
In the pic below, I see a matte textured finish as well as semi-gloss.
5. Where on the pricing matrix do I specify the finish?
6. How much is a cover for an unused swingout spindle?

Excellent questions, thank you. Answers below:

1. that is a side bumper type deal this beta customer requested as custom. It is not what we would do as a production item as it would not be cost effective in any way.
2. I hope #1 answered this?
3. it is not in there
4. standard finish is "small texture black", everything else is custom. The bumper in above pic is full custom, with all kinds of extra things. The semi-gloss coating takes a lot more prep work on the surfaces so it is at least relatively flat, etc. Then it takes a bunch more coats of the primer to get it looking the way we like. Again, not something we will likely be offering as standard at this point.
5. I hope #4 answered this?
6. no cost

Thanks for the quick reply.

When I get one, I'd be modifying mine to add a receiver hitch. I've seen the earlier discussions and I know a that's never going to be an option and I'm not asking you to add it.

If I'm going to modify it, would you offer the option to ship it without a finish so I could add the receiver myself and have it powder-coated locally?
I like the semi-gloss look but there's no reason to pay extra if welding in the receiver will ruin that. I can do all the extra prep-work needed for that finish myself, as I've done it before.

Yes, that is something we can tackle together. Just reach out to me at info@deltavs.com when the time is right for you and we can get it figured. We would need to powdercoat the swingarms, etc here though, so we'd just have to work together on it.

Little update on a side project:

Was approached by a local guy to adapt our swingarm to his bumper, so we are building this. Now he can just bolt on any of our accessories. We will likely end up doing the other side for him as well. Should be the same for ARB 80 bumpers, I think. This will be offered as either a “weld it yourself” kit or you can send your arm to us and we’ll do the upgrade.

Nice.

New Delta bumper and BumpIt Offroad sliders. I’m loving this!

I did want to add that I was in search of a backup light option and we added this little LightForce light in this hole. Bigger tires might eliminate this option, but I bet I could get 35’s on here and still not shade this light.

Please reconsider doing the protection on the rear fenders! It's the only reason why I'm not buying your rear bumper and I love it. I just need that peace of mind that I'm not gonna destroy a panel that is discontinued. I'll be buying a rear bumper In a month or two. And it'll be a Slee because it has that fender protection unless y'all start doing it like the other popular brands on here are doing. Unless you can make a good point for not having that protection, I'm all ears.

It's not something we are going to make standard at this point, maybe sometime in the future. You are only the second person to request. We can add as custom if you want, without issue.

edit: a word

How much would you guys charge to do it?

EVERYBODY asks ALL the time, so here you have it. With all the "spare time" we've had this week, decided to finalize a hitch attachment for our rear bumper. Don't have a cost yet, still have to find out how much hydrodipping is:

Hahahahaha...but seriously, needs a receiver hitch.
hahahahahhahahaha...but seriously, you wanna pay for it?

we are happy to put the time and effort into it, but will only do it if we actually go through the process of having it certified as a class iii receiver. this involves 3rd party testing, lawyers, stamped engineering work, jig design and building, in addition to all the extra work to just design/integrate a receiver into our already finalized design. and we certainly can't afford all those extra costs. so, no.

IMO, it’s too easy for the end user to add one where your nameplate is for y’all to ever fool with it

I'm very confused by this statement/post after post #254 states you're designing an attachment which would present the same liability issues.

Not sure I’m following, did the joking part of post 254 pass by?
