If i put my RTT on this one I think i'll just move the two load bars to wherever I want to bolt down the RTT. Should be easy. Front will be easy access through the sunroof, rear I'll have to position the load bar such that I can access through the side with an open end.I really like this rack setup. For people that are running RTT, how are you mounting them? I have an Alucab 3.1 RTT that I ran on the 200 on a Gamiviti rack. I put an old style ARB rack on the 80 but it sticks up high and I don't think it'd make an ideal base for the RTT. With the Gamiviti, I mounted the Alucab crosssbars to the round tubes along the sides, but that requires access underneath to put the nuts on. I don't know how I'd do it with this rack. I store the tent suspended in the garage, so I can put it on and take it off pretty quickly (electric winch).
grab handles would be cool. I'd like some camp lighting on the sides and some chase lights. Probably will fabricate my own brackets, but yeah would be cool if there were more available already.I love this rack. Trying out a couple different approaches to side/camp lights. The S1 lights just bolt into one of the existing holes, the rock lights need a small bracket that mounts to the existing holes.grab handles will be cool. I was wondering about a Rigid 6" light bar (just because they are just taller than an inch vs Baja Designs being around 2") mounted on a bracket so they poke out a tad from one of the side openings - then their angle can be adjusted. But maybe that rock light or the S1 angle would do just as well.

Would running PPF on the area of the roof the front of the rack rests on be an option? Protect the paint and keep things quiet with no gap? Just a thoughtWe just installed this rack to a customers 80-series build we are doing.

Obviously we had it pc’ed black. Rack goes together pretty easy and is light weight. However, for us there is one noticeable problem. After fitting the rack we drove this Cruiser over to Deltas shop and visited with them about the main issue.
The issue is the rack is designed to rest on the roof in front. Maybe that’s fine on a 30yr old paint job with clear coat fail but that’s not fine on this Cruiser which just got a complete disassembly paint job that cost $$$$$. We have mounted the rack far forward so it doesn’t contact the roof but to us it looks funny this way.
So we are going to need to take the edge back on the front piece that sits on the roof so there is a small gap between roof and rack. Delta explained why they designed it this way, for noise, and that’s fine but we can’t have a RR rubbing on this paint job. Delta did offer to work with us on a remedy and that’s fine too. Not sure at the moment if that will be our solution but again no way we are going to have the rack rubbing the paint bad enough to cause damage to the roof after a full body off (rotisserie) glass out repaint.

Maybe re-read my post there - I didn’t tell you to trash the paint. I think I said get some paint protection film to protect it, then enjoy the cruiser. Enjoying a cruiser doesn’t mean trashing the paint. If increasing the gap is the solution you want and have experience with it working for you, seems like a good solution you’ll be happy with.My personal 80 has a Bowfin with adjustable front panel. When I first installed it I gave it an 1/8” gap at most to keep wind noise down. It got some small rocks stuck up in that gap when I ran 100 miles through the desert at 60mph. So I raised the front panel to provide at 3/8’s-1/2” gap and next two trips on the same roads no small rocks stuck in the small gap.
Increasing the gap of this panel on my Bowfin did zero to increase sunroof noise. Up to 85mph.
So you are telling us to trash an absolutely perfect paint job that cost more than most Cruisers to avoid some noise?
