So I hit a deer with my HDJ 81 and insurance paid for a new bumper, a fender flare and a running board. Didn't feel like having a just one new flare and running board, so for a little extra, I had it de-flared and am getting ARB side steps with fender protection (I know they are not "real" sliders, but my short and pregnant wife needs to get in and this is not a rock crawler, just my DD and hunting mobile.) The lining is a 3/16 inch thick rubberized Scorpion guard. Now I just need to find a rear bumper and some 37s... If anyone wants my take-off parts (cheap) let me know.

Love it! Anxiously awaiting my bullbar and lightforce blitz 240 lights to spruce up my stock front end.

Looks good, I had a set of those yoko's on my old ford pickup, they didnt wear the best but I really like them, when they had tread on them they did well even on ice with the weight of the old 6.9 NA international diesel.

I like the rhino guard, it really changes the look of the vehicle, although you'd know it was a JDM diesel before and now it's harder to tell.

Good idea getting rid of the factory damage multiplier.

It's nice to be sure but I miss the red...kind of an "hdj" name tag

Yeah, I actually liked the red, but getting the bumper and steps painted and the extra $250 for colored lining wasn't in the budget.

It looks nice. I like the silver / black combo. Very nice.

Yeah, I love these tires. They are great on ice as far as I am concerned. Now without my flares they look small though, so I might trade them for something bigger.

I think the RHD still gives it away as JDM though :).

I never liked the red two tone- nice work.

Very nice setup BenB, what kind of wheeels are those?

was never really fond of the red on the 81s either. good choice on the colour change...the black looks great. did you not get the moulding/flare holes filled? cant really tell. nice score on the arb...

how did the deer do?

Looks sharp! I dig the sliver with black.

I thought these were the factory wheels. But now that I look at it, it appears not. I'll have to check.

The holes were filled with plastic caps. You can see the bumps, but I like the looks of it that way. Yeah I'm a fan of the free ARB . Now I just need someone to rear end me so I can get something for the back :D. Deer (mule buck in the rut) unfortunately was KIA. Hit him in the head so hard he spun around several times, kicking my running board and fender flares in the process. Funny thing was that I was on my way back from hunting. Had several near misses with deer, elk and moose this year, so it was about time.

Thanks Jason. How long is the wait for one of your rear bumpers (without swingouts?)

That black is much better. I would buy slee slider steps rather than arb rocker panel denters. Here are some piks of arb steps in action and the results after they where removed.
