I'll be coming up early Saturday morning and will be bringing a friend of JohnVee's and mine.

I'll bring crackers for the oysters along with an app for Saturday night. Can someone please PM me a particular brand of cracker they prefer for the oysters? Perhaps I'm overthinking it and any non-store brand saltine will do.

Sarah and I will arrive Saturday morning, too, and will stay the night.

I'm leaning towards a nice hearty beef stew but can change that based on need. Lemme know.

Hey guys - I'm FJinTegaCay and JohnVee's "special friend" coming on the trip this weekend. I'll be glad to chip-in for the oysters and help cook them. I cook/steam oysters pretty in a turkey fryer at my beach house. Is someone brying a fryer and a propane tank??

They have a special friend....... I knew there was something about those two :hillbilly:

Seems like you'll fit in here fine.... the club cooker has a deep fryer built in to it so that will work fine

I'm trying to rope Brett into making this so everyone can see that he's still alive. :)

Wait, are we frying these oysters or steaming them? We could get some burlap and steam them on the fire.

Sorry...I'm not THAT special...LOL.

The best way to cook oysters outside is with a turkey fryer. Fill the pot with about 6" of water, have something in the bottom of the pot to keep the basket from hitting the bottom - an old coffee mug works great. Put the oysters in the basket and drop them in. Cook until they start to open-up. Will anyone be bringing a fryer? I can bring mine if FJinTegaCay has room. Will there be a propane tank? Thanks and looking forward to the trip.

FWIW I had a '74 FJ40...back when I used to have hair:

Not trying to sound like a dick sorry if i commin off like one.

no... it's all good.

All this talk about cooking oysters. I'll grill em on the cooker. Grilling is how I've always done it, aka oyster roast. It's easy and i can get em just the way people like em. I'll bring the texas pete and butter too. I serve em straight off the grill.

No, Meatball, I think you started this one. So i am holding you accountable for this one.
