I have a post going over in the SoCal 80's Club thread but I am not getting the response I was hoping for. That thread is located here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-socal-80s/317455-death-valley-bust-nov-27-29-a.html you can post either here or their.

Anyway my plan basically is to get out to D.V. Friday hit a couple trails mayber Echo Canyon over by Stove Pipe and the main focus being the Racetrack on Saturday. Base camp will be Panamint Springs Resort where there is a motel, bar & camp site with showers. Dave, our moderator of the SoCal80's was just out their a couple weekends ago and already scouted out the loop from PSR to Racetrack and back to PSR that you can check out here: Adventrue Duo

I will be in the neighboring town of Ridgecrest, CA where I grew up from Wed night to Friday and again Sunday night until Monday when I will head back to San Diego. So if any of you are able to get out early on Friday or caravan back on Monday I will be around the area.

So those of you who don't have family crashing at your house this is a great long weekend to do an epic trip like Death Valley.......

P.S. Here is a D.V. PDF map to check out the area. D.V. MAP

I was their just 2 years ago and I will be next door in Ridgecrest for Thanksgiving but the loop I want to do from Panamint Valley to the Racetrack is too remote to do solo I need another rig.

We've done it solo for the last 8 T/G's. Unfortunately, I don't think the new motor will be broken in enough for the trek this year.

Which route are you contemplating?

Through Lee Flat on Saline Valley Rd., up Hunter Mtn. to Tea Kettle Junction. From the Racetrack down Lippincott Grade on Ubehebe Rd. and back to Saline Valley Rd. So basically a large counter clockwise loop.

Easily a solo trip. You will still have vehicles comin' around in those areas.

We're just gonna do a bunch of day/overnight trips kind of locally to break in the motor.

Go for it, and have a great time!!

There will be 300+ people at PSR on Thanksgivign Day. You won't be alone!

EDIT: Just saw that you cancelled.

Yeah, I did cancel but 300 what? Off-roaders? I find that impossible to believe! Bikers I might be able to believe that.

They have a free t-day feast out there. I was by last year and it was a mad house before they even started serving. I will be hitting Death Valley over the weekend, IF I don't have to work over the holidays. I'll be rolling in a car, so dirt roads will be limited to the easy variety.

I'd be willing to bet the hot springs at Saline Valley will also see a bump in #'s over the holiday too.

I did Racetrack and Lippencott alone, no prob, plenty of people. There was a Honda Pilot with a load of bikes dragging ruts in the trail from the hitch mount and 6 passengers on Lippencott........

Oh well maybe in February and if I can't get anyone to go then maybe I will attempt it alone. But instead this Friday since I will be up that way I am going to do the Bonanza Trail in Red Rock Canyon an easy trip for my Parents, Aunt & Uncle.
