I need to get seat-belt recall done and would like to do T-SB-0209-17 done for my 2016 LC. Just got off phone with Round Rock Toyota and not going back their. The messed up some stuff on my T100 and giving me the its 150dollars to diagnose your transmission as opposed to just doing T-SB... software update.

So who has dealer in Austin, Cedar Park, Hutto, etc... area they actually trust?

Ceder park Toyota- ask for Frank Cleaveland, hands down best/honest technician in the country.

Well, don't go to Charles Maund Toyota under any circumstance. They cocked up my steering rack job something good. Won't ever go back there or recommend them to anyone under any circumstance.

Wes at Autonation Toyota South Austin is the real deal. Got me a loaner because I was early in the process and they didn’t know how like it would take. Turns out it was under two hours. Zero complaints with the work too.

Also if you don’t know about it, lock your glove box and keep the key blade with you so they don’t accidentally destroy your recirc flap trying to check your cabin filter. They had a master tech do my seatbelt recall but who knows who does the maintenance/upsell inspection.

How'd they mess that one up?

Long story, short: they installed my new steering rack and neglected to put coolant back in my truck.....truck overheated massively on the drive home....no coolant anywhere in the system.....Charles Maund claimed my thermostat failed and the coolant was "mysteriously" trapped in the heater core....they replaced my 6 month old thermostat, lost the one that was supposedly broken and the mysterious disappearing coolant returned. Yeah, that was their story....not kidding. Can't discuss resolution as part of my agreement with Toyota USA.

So, yeah, don't EVER go to Charles Maund Toyota....not only are they incompetent, but they'll lie to your face to cover their butts.

I like the Cedar Park dealership, particularly if you're going to be waiting for your car. It's a nice building to have to sit around in. We have a 2017 Sienna that I purchased from them, and I take it there for scheduled maintenance. Haven't had to have them do any repairs because the vehicle is so new.

But I'm not thrilled with their work on my new-to-me 2001 Tundra. I took it there because the coolant was low when I bought the truck, and it was the green stuff. I wanted them to flush the system and do a pressure test to see if it was leaking anywhere. They told me no leaks, and filled it up with the correct coolant. A couple of days later I start noticing some red drips on my driveway. I look around and can't see where the leak is originating, but can clearly see it running down the path where they told me I was leaking oil from the crank seal. So, I'm pretty sure they diagnosed a crank seal leak without looking close enough to determine what type of fluid was present. It's not like I'm seething or anything, it just seemed sloppy. Leak turned out to be the water inlet. I had the guys at Bearden fix it. They found the leak location....by doing a pressure test. Funny, huh?

Anyway, if I take the Tundra back to Cedar Park I'll make sure to ask for Frank. I'll continue to take the Sienna there.

Ah, ok. I read this story of yours already. I forgot the detail that the rack was the reason for going in.

Yeah, I was super lazy and didn't want to do the job myself. Lesson learned though. LandCruiser Specialists and Bearden are the only people I trust other than myself to work on my LX.

I know this thread is quite old. Just wanted to re-ping and see where people are servicing their LCs.

Would love to know where the best place in ATX to service a 200.

I do most of regular maintenance. For things I do not what to do I have been taking mine to Cedar Park Toyota north of Austin. I do not recommend Round Rock Toyota. Have not really used anyone else so can not provide any further input.

Depends if you need warranty work or just need maintenance items done. Check out AJ's Yotas in Cedar Park or LC Specialists in Wells Branch/35 area. Both are independent shops run by good people.

LC, AJ.

A warning about Toyota of Cedar Park. In May, I had them rotate my tires while in for an oil change before a long trip. 1200 miles into that trip, I heard a clunk in the driver's side front wheel area, thankfully after I had just pulled off I-90. I was able to stop in a local shop, and long story short, the wheel was loose. When I got back into town, I worked with the Service Director at TCP, and found out that normal practice, when mounting wheels, is to use a torque stick, not a torque stick, followed by an actual torque wrench. Ask any mechanic about that, and they'll tell you this process isn't good. The other three wheels were fine, but something was awry with this one. The video TCP provided me does not clearly show the tech working the driver's side of the truck, so no telling for sure.

Yeah I called TCP and asked if they ever had a situation happen where the wheel fell off and they admitted it's happened twice. So... no go on them.

Kudos for them admitting it, I guess. I was going to do it myself, but was having the oil changed already, and $30 isn't too much. I could have the Leander Discount Tire do it for free, but they ruined two sets of rims mounting new tires. For the third set, I told the DT manager at the time that I didn't want his employees even looking at the boxes, I would get the rims, take them down to 4WP and have them mounted, I would bring the ruined rims back, and they could pay 4WP. He agreed, which tells you how much he trusted his employees.

I'm an LC Specialist fan for actual repairs/difficult items and AutoNation Toyota for more run of the mill type stuff. For a dealership I've always had a good experience with them and seems like they have quite a few advisors that actually offroad some too so that helps.

100% not Toyota of North Austin (used to be Maund). They are trying to get better it seems but just haven't really ever had a good experience there.
