I was out of town all weekend so no updates other then I confirmed I only have spacers on the front and the truck sits level. I get a very slight pull to the left on the road, and I still hate the damn alarm.

Also noticed that my AC has no belt to it (at least I assume it's the AC motor) I'd love to convert that spot to onboard air of some sort.

The roof rack is the only thing keeping it from fitting in my garage so I think I can lower the rear tire pressures enough to roll ti in and get it up on jackstands so I can go through the rear brakes and ebrake adjustment.

There is SO much room in the wheelwells. Would I be crazy to look for 36 or 37" Swampers for trail tires and keep the 35" AT's for street tires?? :D :D

dave. my rears rub with 35s in and extended bump stops. i think you have a 4" lift? i would stick with 35s. IMHO you need 6" for 37s

Rick, Nat or Pete, can one of you guys with stock horn assemblies please take a picture of your horns and how they are hooked up? I need to sort out which wires go where as I think I'm missing a piece.

I'm going to take a few snaps off all the wires an connectors I have upfront, see if you guys can ID them.

Finally a weekend not scheduled to the hilt... going to try to do my PHH and coolant flush. Then get the rear brakes cleaned and adjusted.

I must be an idiot, I can't find the PHH. I did do a god flush and refill with the intent of doing it again after some miles, will try to do the PHH then.

The coolant that was in there was a very dark brown and just ugly. I never found the petcock for the radiator but used the bottom hose to drain and flush all the brown out. Also drained the block from the brass screw, all in all not a terrible process though now I have a lot of ugly liquid in buckets to recycle.

Did a few fill/warm/cool/drain/fill cycles until the water was clear then when with good Peak green (gasp!). (Yes, I've read the "red vs. green" threads, please lets not belabor this point) ;)

Another good morning with the truck. I think my ABS sensors are toast. RF was ok but had metal on it so I cleaned it. LF was clean but there was no tab/prong on the end of the sensor, and both rears are stuck in there with no bolts or anything visible to remove them. I won't be driving the tuck enough to be that worried about not having the ABS (none of my old trucks have ever had it) but I think I do need to get that dash light off in order to pass state inspection.

My coolant flush seems to have worked out well. I was worried that I hadn't got every nook and cranny but so far the rad and overflow bottle are nice and green.

I still get one small noise on the road, sounds like a loose exhaust hanger or something but when I grab and wiggle it's all solid. Maybe it's something else? Ideas?

Need to get in for an alignment, a minor but definite pull to the right.

I think I've finally developed a techique for getting into the driver's seat, damn this thing is tall. :) :) :)

Both in MA and TX I passed with the light on. I think it is the same in NH. FWIW, I had to replace the entire ABS wiring from the harness down. It was very expensive as they dont sell just the sensors separate, you have to order the wiring and sensor. To make matters more complicated, there are different lengths for the back so make sure you know what length you need before you call to order.

What does it sound like? A loose knock? Check the front and rear sway bar bushings. Then, on the front, check the bracket where the sway bar connects to the axle, this can break/sheer - mine did.

Once you have done that, check the bushings in the front and rear panhards. They could be worn and clunking. This could also be the source of your steering issue? Also (i think i have quoted this more than any other thing on MUD) do the landtank front axle check!

There may be nothing wrong but its good to get it done and out of the way.

Dave, if you take out the rear inner fender skirt on the drivers side and look in just above the starter you'll find the PHH hose. It's a real PITA to change out and you might have some difficulties with those hands or yours. Do you have a warm place to work?

I took off the soft rubber inner covers, do I have to remove the big metal one as well?

If I put some tiny tires on the back I think I can get it into my garage, it's only the roof rack that keeps if from fitting.

Pete,

Unless I discover a cheap and easy fix for the ABS it will stay kaput. This is pretty much just a weekend wheeler truck and when I drop a grand into it it will be for wheels and tires. :)

that would be my suggestion exactly. no need to waste time and money hunting it down.

I figured out how to rehook up my horns and they work fine. Not sure what that rubber pigtail is but the connectors are hidden behind it. I unplugged them again until inspection day as I still have the alarm to deal with.

If I assume the ABS and CE lights won't be an issue then that was the last of my state inspection items. :) I'll probably drive down to Springfield on Tuesday morning and get it registered. :)

My on the road noise is definitely coming from the pside rear and only when go
ing around a left hand corner. I gave all the links and such a good tug and everything seems solid. My exhaust pipe does move however but didn't seem like it was moving enough to contact anything and make a noise. I'm going to add a few ties to the frame and see if it persists.

It has started snowing and I need to  prep for the Pats game now. :)

Pull EFI fuse. Wait 10 sec. Reinstall. End of CE light.
Pats game sucked.
