My cars have dash cams with hidden wires powered by fuse or rearview mirror.
Does your 40 have a dash cam or radar detector (yeah, in the speed demon 40, ha)? Is the cig lighter your power source? Simple enough, it seems, and it'd be for short trips into town; mounted somewhat low so the dangling cord doesn't make my OCD go buck wild, but still positioned/recording well enough for legal assistance. Or is there a cleaner looking option?

I just ran the wires up the A pillar on the drives side for my radio/stereo mounted on a mahogany plank setting on the inside roof rail. Had speakers too. Now I need to mount my 80Watt 2 M HAM radio. I'm guessing I will need the heavier duty wiring harness the radio came with. So I'll be doing the passenger side because the battery is on that side. Not sure I'll be putting the stereo back in. No dash cam or radar detectors either.

I'd consider taking power from one of the male spade terminals on the back of the fusebox, and follow the path of the wiper harness up to the windshield.

Then route it along the bottom for a low mounted camera, or follow the wiper harness up and across the windshield frame for a camera mounted by the rear view mirror.

There’s a 12 v plug inside the glove box. I can’t remember if it’s polarized or not, but it’s essentially the same as a 110v plug. I used to have a razor that would charge off 12 volts. I didn’t even need an adapter to charge it while I was on the road.
