Hey Dan!

Here is your correct exhaust manifold:

I bought some emmisison stuff from Muddders and ended up with this.

OrangeFJ45 saw this and said "WTF"?

If I were to go to hell. That is what I would expect to see.

Those thermal reactor manifolds are unobtainium according to several sources (Toyota, S.O.R. ..), and you should be granted a "soft" exemption from installing one. The fella who recently smogged my 40 didn't say squat about my missing reactor, but then again, I think this is the first time the guy had seen a carburator. Go figure...

My original thermo reactor manifold had a big crack in it , so I had to find a replacement. Found one at TLC in Van Nuys. Cost an arm and a leg. I tried to take the cracked one apart but it is sealed and wouldn't cooperate.

I bent some beeeyouteeful fuel lines from 3/8 metal line. They screw into the carb as well as the fuel pump.

I got the rig running by borrowing the link from the gas pedal to the carb linkage from another rig. I drove it around and everything runs great. The fan does not come on, but I'll check into that.

I received the air filter assy I bought from another mud member yesterady in the mail. The flippin air filter housing hits the fuel line.

Time to buy and bend a new fuel line. :crybaby:

Has anybody successfully flaired 3/8 fuel line?

I was quoted prices up to $600+ for one... I got one on Ebay (from TLC!) for about $150. I was the only bidder, too. Go figure.

The one I took off only has a couple of cracks in it...

New exhaust is installed and I picked it up and I drove it to the smog shop. There are a few wiring gremlins that he can figure out.

I bought the correct 1977 dual nipple California distributor from a vendor here on MUD but forgot to install it.

The thing runs great.

 I think I need to go hug my 3FE now (soon to be desmogged).
