How does the late Model 18 stack up against the 3 and 4 speed
transfer cases from '73 and '76 FJ40's. To me some pluses are:
cast iron case
compatible drop
lower range
parts availability
overdrive availability

Anybody ever use one?

I've got one in my Willys, but not exactly sure how they compare to the LC cases. I do know they have cracked in half right through the intermediate shaft. The last year they were used in production was 1971.
