I was looking at getting a pole saw for use around my house, but also to trim along the fire lanes on my tree farm (up to the level of my tractor canopy).

While looking online, I found the Kombi-system line and figured that if it is a good product, I might as well get something that can be used as a trimmer also.

I was specifically looking at the KM130R.

Do you have any feedback on these, or am I better off getting a dedicated pole saw?

A dedicated Pole saw has a purpose but I prefer the Kombi System. You have the ability to make it into 15 or so pieces of equipment so you can use it year around.

Many of the wildland fire stations are using them since they fit in thier truck compartments. They also use the extension for the pole saw to reach the lower limbs for fuel reduction (skirting trees).

One of the greatest things I like about the Kombi System is I can throw it all in the bucket of my tractor and cruise the neighborhood helping neighbors prepare for fire season. The dedicated unit is strapped to my ROPS and my loader bucket. I have the HL 0-35 attachment I take with me as well just for the olyander (sp?)

Awesome. Thanks for the input. I am going to go with the Kombi-system then.
